Chandigarh, Sept 29- In a bid to enhance transparency and efficiency in property transactions, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has called for the creation of color-coded property maps using advanced technology for all municipalities in the state. These colour maps should be made public as soon as possible so that citizens face no inconveniences during property purchases. In this direction, he also emphasized the need for a comprehensive categorization system of color-code including approved area, under process, unapproved and agricultural area etc.

The Chief Minister was addressing the officers during a review meeting of the Urban Local Bodies Department here today. Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta was also present on this occasion.

While underlining the importance of utilizing drone mapping technology to assess development opportunities within urban areas, he urged District Municipal Commissioners to explore the possibilities for urban development through drone mapping. He also inquired whether it has been implemented in their respective cities. We have to transform Haryana into the leading  state in terms of urban development, he added.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to establish separate budgets for each municipality, with a focus on increasing revenue before allocating resources for development initiatives. He also underlined the government's commitment to strengthening essential infrastructure, including electricity, roads and water systems, to improve the quality of life for Haryana's residents. Furthermore, he urged officials to monitor staff performance regularly and address any shortages of engineering staff through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. At the same time, requisition for regular recruitment also be sent.

During the meeting, Mr. Manohar Lal instructed officials to develop ranking parameters for urban local bodies, emphasizing the importance of accountability and performance assessment.

Highlighting the government's commitment to serving the public, the Chief Minister mentioned three essential platforms: nagar darshan, Jan Samvad programs and CM announcements. He urged swift action on priority projects through these platforms to expedite urban development in Haryana, with a focus on setting and achieving development targets for all municipalities.

Addressing the digitization of properties, Chief Minister Manohar Lal noted the ongoing efforts to establish Property IDs for every piece of land in the state. Much progress has been made in this initiative, with work continuing to complete the remaining tasks.

Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr V Umashankar, Director Urban Local Bodies Department Mr Vikas Gupta, Chief Administrator HSVP Mr Ajit Balaji Joshi and District Municipal Commissioners from all districts were also present in  the meeting.
