Chandigarh, April 13: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal  has extended best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Baisakhi festival.

In a message issued here today, Chief Minister said that Chaitra Navratri and Vikram Samvat 2078 are starting from today. He said that in the northern states on Baisakhi farmers start harvesting during April, while this auspicious day is celebrated in different ways in other states of the country.

The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had played a pivotal role in framing Country’s Constitution. He said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had dedicated his life for the countrymen especially for the upliftment of the unprivileged.

He said that in view of this, Haryana government has started to celebrate the birth anniversaries of great people like Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Ravidas and Sant Kabir to spread the message of social equality among the people.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to celebrate these auspicious festivals in the month of April in a spirit of affection and brotherhood.
