Chandigarh, April 22: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has greeted the people of the state on the occasion of World Earth Day and appealed that they should help nurture the earth clean by planting more trees.
In a message issued here today on the occasion of World Earth Day, the Chief Minister said that due to climate change at present, the environment is being adversely affected on a global scale. To avoid this, water has to be conserved and environmental pollution should be prevented.
The Chief Minister said that we will have to take a pledge to complete tasks like curbing carbon emissions, conducting water conservation campaigns, emphasizing farming that enhances the productive capacity of the earth, conserving endangered animals, reducing plastic pollution during the COVID-19 pandemic so that we can observe World Earth Day in the true sense.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has also separately constituted the Ministry of Jal Shakti under which water conservation campaigns are being carried out all over the country. In Haryana also, a Water Conservation Missions have been formed in every district.
