Chandigarh, August 11 – The state level Hariyali Teej Mahotsav of ancient Indian tradition was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm at Haryana Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya inaugurated the cultural programme with the lighting of the lamp. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala and members of the cabinet were present on this occasion.
Artists of Haryanvi and Punjabi culture gave a splendid performance during the Teej Mahotsav organized by the Department of Art and Culture, Information Public Relations and Languages Department and Cultural Centre of North Zone at the Amrit Mahotsav of India's independence. Apart from this, colourful cultural programmes were also organized in the evening consisting of Sanware Mahima, Peacock-Mukut and dance presentation celebrating the rains. Been presentation, sarangi, and drum beats also enthralled the audience during the programme. Jai Janani Devi Stuti was also presented in this programme.
In this programme, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya extended his greetings to the people of the state and wished everyone a happy and healthy life. He was appreciated the performance of the artists and announced to give them an amount of Rs 5 lakh as an award.
