Chandigarh, August 18: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, while blessing the Olympic medal winner of Nahari and Kurad Villages, reiterated State Government's commitment of keeping farmers interest as utmost priority by announcing new development gifts worth crores for both the villages. He said that in some areas efforts are being made to mislead the farmers by saying that their land will be sold.
The Chief Minister said that both the Centre and State Governments can't think of harming the farmers.
The Chief Minister said this, while attending the felicitation ceremony as the Chief Guest, organized to honour the Olympic medalists of Nahari and Kurad today.
While blessing the players Ravi Dahiya and Sumit, who brought Haryana's name at the international stage, announced new developmental projects so as to give direction to the development of both the villages.
During the function, Ravi Dahiya, who hails from Nahari village and Sumit, hailing from Kurad village submitted demand letters to the Chief Minister on behalf of their villages, in response to which the Chief Minister approved all the demands on the spot.
The Cheif Minister even approved some of the demands received by the Gram Panchayat.
The Chief Minister first reached Nahari village where the villagers gave him a warm and grand welcome. Referring to the history of Nahari, Sh. Manohar Lal said that it is a village of revolutionaries and not just sportsmen. In the World War, 229 soldiers of the village took part, out of which 31 soldiers had attained martyrdom.
Khushal Singh Dahiya of Nahari had his head beheaded in honour of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur, whose memorial is in Badkhalsa. There is no match for Nahari in education too as there are 38 MBBS doctors from here. The village has created history.
Saluting the struggle of Ravi's grandfather Sheochand and father Rakesh Dahiya, Chief Minister said that after Ravi's victory, the village panchayats met him late at night and made some demands, that included making arrangements for rain water harvesting and starting bus service. Both these demands were fulfilled with immediate effect.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana would be made a sports hub. For the first time in the Olympics, India has secured seven medals and 48th place, the credit of which goes to Haryana. The youth of the state will be given more encouragement in sports.
The Chief Minister gave the slogan of Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan-Jai Pehalwan-Jai Vigyan. He also told that he himself is a farmer. Therefore, the State Government truly understands the problems of the farmers very well.
The Central Government procures wheat and paddy, while at present Haryana government is procuring 11 crops. Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana has been implemented to compensate farmers for the loss of vegetables, shared the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also specially encouraged the farmers to leave the paddy crop so that the ground water level can be raised.
He also motivated the farmers to adopt micro irrigation scheme. Along with this, he also gave information about Kisan Samman Nidhi, Parivar Pehchan Patra , Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana etc aimed to ensure economic upliftment of the poor and farmers.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that under the Parivar Pehchan Patra scheme, 50,000 families have been identified in the initial phase, for whom door to door efforts would be made to increase their income.
Chief Minister gifts Model Sanskriti school with indoor stadium for Nahari
The Chief Minister, while encouraging Ravi Dahiya to train the budding wrestlers announced to set up an indoor stadium at Nahari. He also gifted Government Model Sanskirti school for the area.
The Chief Minister also took consent of the villagers of Nahri to get the village included under Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon to ensure 24-hour power supply in the village. The Chief Minister also announced to waive off Rs 20 lakh as penalty amount out of Rs. 50 lakh outstanding electricity bill which is due from about 660 people in the village. The Chief Minister also announced to provide installment facility for the payment of the remaining bills.
He informed that out of 6700 villages of the state, the Mahra Goan Jagmag Gaon has been started in 5300 villages, in which Nahari has also joined today. The construction work of the library is going on in the village which will be completed in three months.
He said that the demand for two community centres will be fulfilled soon, in which the construction work of one centre is almost complete while the other will be completed within a period of three to four months. For the beautification of Dada Shambhu Talab and Ghisa Lake, the Chief Minister gave approval of Rs. 1. 44 crore.
The construction of boosting station for pure drinking water has started, so that every household will be supplied with tap water. An amount of Rs 68 lakh has been sanctioned for construction and evacuation of RCC drain at Phirni and Rs. 1.88 crore for repair and new construction work in Government Girls and Boys School. The Chief Minister also announced upgradation of village dispensary into PHC.
Will set up 6-A side hockey field along with hockey nursery in Kurad
Giving a new height to the development of Kurad village, the Chief Minister while announcing the establishment of a 6-A side hockey ground in the village. He called upon Sumit to give Gurumantra to the budding hockey players of the State. Along with the hockey nursery in the village, the Chief Minister announced appointment of coach for the budding players.
While giving directions to prepare an estimate for the construction of the rooms of the school in the village, the Chief Minister said that every requirement for the school would be met.
Giving directions regarding drainage of dirty water of two ponds of the village, the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to ensure widening and repairing the returning wall of Johad with fields and Jahari road.
For the convenience of the villagers, the Chief Minister also announced to link Kurad with Murthal PHC. At the same time, he said that Kurad has been included in the Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon Yojana on July 10, 2021, under which an amount of Rs. One crore has been spent.
Register demand on Gram Darshan Portal
The Chief Minister said that in future also every demand of the village will be fulfilled. He said that the villagers can put forward their demand through MP, MLA or Deputy Commissioner. Along with this, he also informed about the launch of the Gram Darshan Portal. He said that villagers can also register their demand on this portal, which will be fulfilled at the earliest.
Will prepare players for Paris Olympics to be held in 2024: Sandeep Singh
Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that it was a matter of pride when the tricolour was hoisted in Tokyo Olympics. The goal is to prepare players for the Paris Olympics in 2024, in which more and more players will make the country and state proud by waving the tricolour high. Today the players of Haryana are making the country proud everywhere and the state's Sports Policy has played a major role.
On this occasion Former Minister, Smt. Kavita Jain, Olympian, Sh. Yogeshwar Dutt, Ravi Dahiya's father, Sh. Rakesh Dahiya, Sumit's father, Sh. Pratap Singh etc. and other dignitaries were present.
