Chandigarh, August 5: In a bid to reduce the financial burden of farmers in transactions in respect of exchange of cultivable agriculture land, Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval regarding a proposal for consideration of remission of stamp duty.
The Cabinet has approved that only a nominal duty at the rate of Rs.5000 per deed of registration will be chargeable under article 31 of Schedule 1-A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, in respect of instrument of exchange of agriculture that is cultivated land, as provided in para 259 of Punjab Settlement Manual comprising of Barani, Sailab, Abi, Nahri and Chahi lands, subject to the condition that the exchange of agricultural land should be in the same revenue estate.
