Chandigarh, December 19: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that he is hopeful that in next two three days a positive solution will be found for the demands of the farmers. A lot of effort is being made towards finding a positive solution through mutual dialogue, said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said this while interacting with media persons after meeting Union Agriculture Minister, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar late in the evening today.
Divulging details about the meeting, Mr. Manohar Lal said that we consider farmers as our own and have always been sympathetic towards their interests.
He said that some people have also met us on behalf of farmers and have given necessary inputs for incorporating in the amended Farm Acts. He added that the Union Minister had been apprised about this.
He further shared that some other people are also leaving no stones unturned for making efforts to resolve this issue through mutual dialogue. I am hopeful that a positive solution will certainly come out on this issue, said that Chief Minister.
Responding to a question about seeking Yes or No from the Government by the farmers, Mr. Manohar Lal said, "If the farmers come forward to hold talks with the government, then the government has always been ready to hold positive talks as no solution can be found in the realm of Yes or No. Highlighting and holding discussions on relevant topics is the only way to resolve any matter mutually and I hope for a positive solution over this issue too," said Mr. Manohar Lal.
Responding to another question regarding the construction of Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal, the Chief Minister said that construction of the canal is definitely very vital for the farmers of Haryana. Today the farmers of the state are certainly facing water shortage. While, farmers of Punjab do not face the same problem. Infact the crops sown by Punjab farmers are ruined due to the rising water levels.
In the moonsoon season, in fact a lot of water flows into Pakistan. The water of our country should remain in our country only and the water distribution should also be done as per the need, said the Chief Minister.
We strongly demand that the Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal should be constructed. The Central government has to take necessary steps in this direction, said Mr. Manohar Lal.
