Chandigarh, December 5-  Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, while attending the Bhojpuri Mahakumbh organized by Pravasi Ekta Manch to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram today, extended his best wishes to the gathering and paid his heartfelt tributes to Dr. Rajendra Prasad.  Although Sh. Manohar Lal did not have a predetermined programme to attend this Mahakumbh today, but he surprised everyone by reaching there all of a sudden.  People were ecstatic with the sudden arrival of the Chief Minister and they welcomed the Chief Minister openly.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister started his address in Bhojpuri language and greeted the people present on the occasion of Bhojpuri Mahakumbh.  The Chief Minister said that though he was invited to the event but he could not decide at that time, but today when his helicopter landed at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, he heard Bhojpuri bhajans and was drawn to the event. 

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the role of Dr. Rajendra Prasad was very important at the time of independence.  He associated with the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and contributed in liberating the country. Dr. Prasad was a man with a revolutionary personality.  He said that when India became independent, Dr. Prasad was made the first President of the country.  He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly and added many new dimensions to the constitution. 

The Chief Minister said that the Purvanchali who are living here, whether they have been living for a short time or have been living for a long time, have a commendable contribution in the development of Haryana.  He said that today Haryana is included amongst the leading states of the whole country.  The number of industries here is also relatively high. Today the economic condition and per capita income of Haryana is also the best.  He said that Gurugram is a city which has become an icon city in the world.  He said that out of 500 multi-national companies in Gurugram, about 200 multinational companies have their head offices here. He said that the contribution of all of you is very important in the development of Haryana's infrastructure.  He expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event by conveying his best wishes.

On this occasion, Pravasi Ekta Manch President, Sh. Satyendra Singh expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister while welcoming him on his arrival at the function.  On this occasion, members of Pravasi Ekta Manch and other dignitaries honoured Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal by garlanding him.

Many dignitaries and officials were present in the function including Publicity Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh. Anil Kumar Rao, and Divisional Commissioner of Gurugram, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan.
