Chandigarh, February 13 - A 500-bedded Hospital of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), in Manesar of Gurugram district, will provide health facilities to the workers as well as the common people and a nursing college will also be opened in Manesar.
These announcements were made on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 500-bedded hospital of ESIC at IMT Manesar today. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal was the Chief Guest in this programme while Sh. Bhupendra Yadav was presiding over the programme.
This 500-bedded ESIC Hospital will be built on a plot of about 8 acres at IMT Manesar. The construction of this Hospital will cost more than Rs 500 crore, in which people will be given outstanding facilities like Emergency Services, OPD, ICU, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, cardiology, cancer treatment, blood bank etc. Apart from Gurugram district, the people of Rewari, Nuh and adjoining districts will also be benefitted from this Hospital.
Addressing the people present at the function, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the labour force is a very big section of society and plays a significant role in building works. Efforts are being made by the Government to ensure they are prosperous and today the confidence of the labour force has been enhanced with the laying of the foundation stone of the Hospital. He elaborated that healthy labourers is a sign of development of industries and it will further augment the production and progress of the country.
He said that more than 50 lakh labourers are registered on Shram Shakti Portal in Haryana and 25 lakh people are registered in Labour Department. Referring to the Parivaar Pehchan Patra, the Chief Minister said that the State Government aims that the eligible beneficiaries of the Welfare Schemes of the Government should get its benefit. He said that the eligible beneficiaries have to apply to take the benefits of these schemes. He added that the State Government has started a campaign to give the benefits of government schemes to the eligible beneficiaries by visiting the homes of such persons and it will be given on the basis of the income shown in the Parivaar Pehchan Patra. Apart from this, the Shram Shakti Portal is also being linked with other portals of the government's social security schemes, including Parivaar Pehchan Patra in the State so that as soon as the person is sure of his/her eligibility for these schemes, he/she can get the benefit of these schemes.
He expressed gratitude to the Union Minister, Sh. Bhupendra Yadav for accepting the proposal of opening Nursing College of ESIC at Manesar, Gurugram and assured that the State Government would identify and provide 5-acre land for this college soon. Additionally, the Chief Minister also said that on the lines of the cashless facility started for the treatment of the employees of Haryana Government, cashless treatment facility should be started for the labourers in the empanelled hospitals. He said that a 500-bedded hospital of ESIC would be built in Manesar with the assistance of the Central Government. Also, he placed a demand before the Union Minister that on the basis of registration of the insured workers, 500-bedded ESI hospital should be sanctioned in Gurugram as well. The Chief Minister shared that the government has also made a provision for the children of the labour force to get an opportunity to get education in a medical college. He said that in order to augment the health facilities, provision has been made for setting up of 200-bedded hospitals at each district in Haryana. At present, there are 500-bedded hospitals each in PGI Rohtak and Nalhad Medical College and a hospital with more than 600 beds capacity in Badsa in the State.
ESI hospitals will also be built at 5 other places, besides Gurugram - Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav
While presiding over the programme earlier, Union Minister, Sh. Bhupendra Yadav said that the Haryana Government completed the process of providing land for this hospital at Manesar very quickly, due to which the foundation stone has been laid today. He also informed that a 100-bedded ESI Hospital will be set up in Hisar, Haryana and inspection for opening ESI hospitals in Rohtak, Sonipat, Karnal and Bahadurgarh the technical team of the Union Ministry has also been done. Besides this, tenders have been floated to open a 100-bedded ESI Hospital at Bawal. He also said that ESIC Hospitals would be opened in future on the basis of kilometre and number of insured persons. He also said that in view of the large number of insured workers in Gurugram, the things required to be done in ESI Hospital, Gurugram, would be completed. Not only this, he said that the local PSUs would also be authorised for the annual repair and maintenance of the State Government-run ESI Hospital so that repair works could be done as per the need. He said that this Government of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is dedicated to the welfare of the poor.
Sh. Yadav also said that 500-bedded ESI Hospital in Manesar would be an eco-friendly Hospital and a competition of youngsters from architecture colleges across the country would be conducted from February 20 to March 20 to prepare its eco-friendly map. In this, the first prize of Rs. 2 lakh will be given to the youth who designs the best map, Rs. 1.5 lakh to the youth who secures the second position and Rs. 1 lakh to the youth who secures the third position. He said that this amount is not an incentive, but these aspiring youngsters will be made partners in making the hospital of future India. Sh. Yadav informed that when the Social Security Code is implemented under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, the insured persons, as well as the local people, will also get the benefit of ESI Hospitals.
200-bedded ESI Hospital to be built in Panipat too - Deputy Chief Minister
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala expressed his views with regard to improving health facilities on this occasion. He said that dispensaries can be opened in small areas by appointing two to five doctors of ESI. He also said that ESIC should augment its hospital structure and fix the target for the next financial year that wherever land is available Hospitals or dispensaries should be opened. He also said that Panipat is the hub of handloom in Haryana and there is a 75-bedded ESI hospital there. Also, 1.6 lakh insured persons are registered in Panipat and as per the ESI rules, if there are more than 1.5 lakh insured persons, a 200-bedded Hospital can be built there. Sh. Dushyant also demanded to build a 200-bedded Hospital in Panipat. He also said that restrictions of ESI should be eased in order to provide immediate health facilities to the workers.
More than 1.5 lakh insured persons will get Hospital benefits in IMT Manesar - Union Minister of State
In the function, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rameswar Teli said that 8 acres of land have been given by the Haryana Government for the construction of ESIC Hospital at Manesar. He said that this scheme is applicable in all 22 districts of Haryana State. He said that more than 1.5 lakh insured persons and more than six lakh beneficiaries in Manesar would be benefitted in a big way from the construction of this Hospital.
Permission granted to open 100-bedded ESI Hospital in Hisar – Sh. Anoop Dhanak
State Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak said that ESIC Hospitals have been connected with cashless medical facilities. He said that industrial workers would be benefitted in a big way with the construction of this new hospital in Manesar. He said that land has been made available to open a 100-bedded ESI Hospital in Sonipat, Rohtak and Karnal, while permission has been given to open a 100-bedded ESI Hospital in Hisar. Besides this, ESI dispensaries have also been started at Nuh and Naraiangarh.
Local MLA Satyaprakash Jarawata welcomed the guests
Pataudi MLA Satyaprakash Jarawata welcomed all the guests on the occasion and said that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is giving more than one gift to this area. First, a Municipal Corporation was constituted in Manesar and now land has been made available to build a new hospital for ESI. He said that not only Gurugram but the people of adjoining districts up to Rajasthan will be benefitted from the construction of this Hospital. On this occasion, he also placed the demand on behalf of the local residents of the area before the Chief Minister.
During the programme, sanction letters were distributed to the beneficiaries of ASI Covid-19 Relief Scheme and e-shram cards were also distributed to the registered workers of the unorganized sector.
