Chandigarh, February 6: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal on Saturday dedicated a lawn tennis court and indoor badminton hall built at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh inside the premises of the community centre located in Sector 6 in Karnal. After this, Chief Minister also played lawn tennis and badminton in newly inaugurated premises.
The Chief Minister also visited the day-care centre set up at the Community Centre and greeted the senior citizens present there. Ayurvedic dispensary and Panchakarma medical facility has also been provided by the Ayush Department in the community centre.
While referring to the sports facilities dedicated to the public, the Chief Minister said that the people living in the sectors have been given the facility to play tennis and said that it will provide physical benefits to the citizens and make them happy.
He said that sports should be included as an integral part of everyone’s life. In today's busy life, some time should be spent for sports as this relieves stress, he said. He further said that whatever is required for the promotion of sports in Karnal will be fulfilled.
Later, while addressing media persons, the Chief Minister said that there will be no shortage of funds for development works in Karnal. If there is a need for assistance in the Municipal Fund, we will do it. The roads of the city which need repair will also be fixed soon for smooth traffic.
Responding to media queries, the Chief Minister praised Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, for urging farmers’ to hold talks with him as he is just a phone call away. Farmers should also talk to the Prime Minister as communication is the key to solving any issue, said the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, MP Karnal Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Mayor, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav and Superintendent of Police Ganga Ram Punia and dignitaries were also present.
