Chandigarh, February 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal while dedicating various developmental projects to the people of Karnal, today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 22 development projects costing Rs 80.55 crore in Karnal. These include inauguration of five projects amounting to Rs. 18.7 crore and the foundation stone for 17 projects worth Rs. 62.47 crore.
Among the five projects that the Chief Minister inaugurated, include newly constructed 3-bays bus stand in Gharaunda town constructed at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore, the railway under bridge constructed at a cost of Rs.11.33 crore, Construction of a road adjoining the town's drain at a cost of Rs. 1.73 crore. The construction of road has been done along with installation of LED lights, iron net and octagonal pole from Kathuria Hotel Service Road to railway boundary Gharaunda.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a park developed in Dharambir Colony of Ward Number 3 near the railway station at Gharaunda town at a cost of Rs 1.96 crore. Similarly, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a park built at a cost of Rs 88.64 lakh in ward number 19 near Karnal railway station.
Mr. Manohar Lal also laid the foundation stone for 17 development projects. These include foundation stone of Primary Health Centre (PHC) and residential houses built inside this PHC in Mirgain village of the district. An amount of Rs 3.88 crore will be spent on this work.
Similarly, construction of Community Centre in Sirsi village at a cost of Rs. 62.24 lakh in Municipal Corporation area, Guru Nanak Dev gate at Karnal-Kaithal road to be built at a cost of Rs 47.16 lakh, Swami Vivekananda gate at Karnal-Kachwa road to be built at a cost of Rs. Rs 48.91 lakh, Mata Saraswati gate at Karnal-Kunjpura road to be built at a cost of Rs. 47.32 lakh, a Day-Care Centre hall to be built at a cost of Rs. Rs 80 lakh in Bal Bhawan, Near Karan Stadium and construction of Kalpana Chawla gate at Karnal-Munak road to be built at a cost of Rs 49.31 lakh
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of installation of interlocking paver block at a cost of Rs. 82.92 lakh in Shastri Nagar of Ward Number 17 along the railway line in Municipal Corporation area, installation of interlocking paver block at a cost of Rs. 33.26 lakh in Ward Number 19 and setting up of inter-intermediate pumping station and 8 MLD capacity sewerage treatment plant under AMRUT scheme near Kambopura village.
Besides this, Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for seven projects of Smart City Limited. These include open air gym to be built at a cost of Rs 6.3 crore, cultural corridor to be built at a cost of Rs. 2.50 crore, construction of pavements with tactile flooring at a cost of Rs 5.70 crore, including bitumen in road construction at a cost Rs 3.95 crore, concrete and installation of interlocking tiles, beautification of flyovers located on NH at a cost of Rs 3.3 crore, development of canal front end on western Yamuna Canal at a cost of Rs 6.30 crore and construction of mini stadium to be built in the Shivaji colony at a cost of Rs. 94 lakh.
Many dignitaries were present on the occasion including MLA, Gharaunda Mr. Harvinder Singh Kalyan, MLA, Indri, Mr. Ram Kumar Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ganga Ram Punia.
