Chandigarh, February 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission, poor and needy women will be made self-reliant and a district-level training centre will be setup in Gharaunda for imparting training to these women.
He said that if women of self-help groups make good quality goods, their goods will be sold at Vita and Hafed booths, which will increase their livelihood. At the same time, the self-help group which works better and has a very low income, will be considered to provide the services of depot holders.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the loan distribution programme organized by Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission in Karnal today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed cheques worth Rs 16.55 crore to women from 933 self-help groups in eight blocks of the district. In which 163 groups of Gharaunda block got a cheque worth Rs. 4.4 crore, 170 groups of Munak block got a cheque worth Rs. 3.62 crore, 160 groups of Indri block got a cheque worth Rs. 2.38 crore, 60 groups of Nilokheri block got a cheque worth Rs. 88 lakh, 79 groups of Nissing block got a cheque worth Rs 1.6 crore, 64 groups of Assandh block got a cheque worth Rs. 68 lakh, 99 groups of Kunjpura block got a cheque worth Rs. 1.53 crore and 138 groups of Karnal block got a cheque worth Rs. 2.37 crore.
The Chief Minister said that women of self-help groups should add two poor women in their groups, whose economic income is very low. This will add 800 more women in the 4,000 self-help groups that are already running in the district. With this effort, the lives of 800 women will be improved.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is working on the vision of Antyodaya as per the thinking of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya so that the last person standing in the queue gets benefit of the government schemes. He said that Parivar Pehchan Patra is being made by the State Government. This will ensure the income of every person. In the first year, 1 lakh such families will be taken, whose income is lowest. Besides this, the State Government also plans that to ensure monthly income of these families is up to Rs. 10,000.
The Chief Minister said that about 4,000 self-help groups have been formed in the district, out of which maximum of 800 are in the Gharaunda block. He said that self-help group was started in the year 2015 in Karnal and Rs. 45.67 crore were disbursed as loan till March 31 2020.
On the occasion including MLA, Gharaunda Mr. Harvinder Kalyan, MLA, Indri, Mr. Ramkumar Kashyap, Mayor Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ganga Ram Punia and officers of other departments were present.
