Chandigarh, January 11 - Haryana Chief Minister while chairing a review meeting regarding CHIRAYU held here today directed the officers concerned to expedite the work of CHIRAYU registration so as to ensure that maximum beneficiaries can avail timely benefits of the scheme. Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij also remained present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister was apprised that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, health benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh are being given to poor families. In Haryana, 15, 51,798 families were covered. Out of these, about 9 lakh families were taking benefits of this scheme. However, now, with the implementation of the CHIRAYU Yojana, about 20 lakh new families have been added to the list. CHIRAYU Haryana was launched to extend the Ayushman Bharat benefits to beneficiaries having an annual income limit of Rs.1.80 lakh.
It was further informed that the State Government has increased the income limit of BPL to Rs 1.80 lakh to give the benefit of this scheme to more families. Now under this scheme, about 29 lakh families will be given the scheme benefits. The process of making Ayushman card is being done at a fast pace. Cards are being made for the families whose cards have not been made yet. For this, additional counters have been set up at the health centres.
The Chief Minister was apprised that So far more than 44 lakh new golden cards generated under CHIRAYU. Before CHIRAYU, golden cards of 28, 89,287 beneficiaries covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana were generated but now 44,15,771 new cards have been generated under the CHIRAYU. Thus the total number of such cards comes to 73 lahks.
It was further informed that Golden cards will be made for all the beneficiaries by the end of this month. There are a total of 715 hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state, including 539 private hospitals and 176 government hospitals.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Smt. G. Anupama, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Director General Ayush, Dr. Saket Kumar, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. K.M Pandurang, Director, Medical Education and Research, Sh. Aditya Dahiya and many other senior officers also remained present during the meeting.
