Chandigarh, January 2 – Haryana Chief Minister today attended the ‘National convention on Spiritual Empowerment for Social Transformation’ held at Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya (Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University), Mount Abu, in Rajasthan today.
While attending the function as the Chief Guest, Sh. Manohar Lal recites a few lines of poem, ‘Chalo jalayen deep wahan, Jahan andhera Ghana ho’, and gave a message of social transformation. With this, he also announced a Rs 21 lakh grant from his discretionary fund for the development of Dadi Prakashmani Enlightenment Park.
“Uplifting every poor and needy should be the foremost aim of everyone’s life so that all such people can also be brought into the mainstream and become partners in building a prosperous society,” said the Chief Minister.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that from the past eight years while working on the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya principle, the State Government has implemented several public welfare schemes, which had made Haryana a role model among other states.
We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the maximum reach of the teachings of saints and great men to the masses
The Chief Minister said that India is a land of ‘Sant’ and ‘Mahatmas’. All these great men have dedicated their lives to the upliftment of society by bringing several social reforms. The message of social harmony spread by them may be in different languages but the essence remains the same. Thus, to ensure maximum reach of the teachings of saints and great men among the masses, a unique Sant Mahapurush Samman evam Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana have been launched by the State Government to celebrate the anniversaries of great men at the state level. This is a unique initiative of the government aimed at inspiring the society, especially the youth from the great life history of these great men and saints, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Along with physical development, spiritual development is equally important
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (BKWSU)'s principles are to reaffirm the spiritual identity, inherent goodness, worth, and dignity of the human being to foster a spirit of universal brotherhood.
The Duty of any Government is to ensure that along with physical development, spiritual development should also be done to spread the message of communal harmony in the society, he added.
Combination of Yoga and millet-rich food for a Healthy life
Sh. Manohar Lal said that with the efforts of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, United Nations has declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. Spiritual knowledge is also attained through yoga practice. To promote this further, we have also opened parks and Vayamshalas in villages, he added.
The Chief Minister said that while realizing the importance of millet-rich food for living a Healthy life, the year 2023 will be observed as Millets Year. While, this time also, the efforts of the Prime Minister have been acknowledged by the United Nations and the year 2023 has been declared as the International Millets Year. Haryana has also started celebrating the year 2023 as Millets Year with a millet-rich breakfast on New Year.
Never let despair dominate you, move forward by being optimistic
The Chief Minister said that he considers about three crore people of the state as his own family. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is our principle and following this principle, his government is working for the welfare of every citizen.
We do face many difficulties while doing the work of social reform, but we should not let despair dominate us, rather we should move forward by being optimistic. One should continuously work in the interest of society by removing all the social evils, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
On this occasion, Karnal MP, Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Joint Chief of Brahma Kumaris, Brahma Kumari Santosh Didi, Additional Secretary-General of the Brahma Kumaris, BK Brij Mohan, Executive Secretary of Brahma Kumaris, Rajayogi B.K. Mruthyunjaya, BK Bharat Bhushan and a large number of followers from all over the country also remained present.
