Chandigarh, January 31 – Haryana Chief Minister, while holding a meeting with the 2020 batch of Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officers, here today, directed them to ensure the implementation of public welfare policies being run by the state government to the grassroot levels. “Each one of you should ensure that the benefits of the welfare scheme should reach every eligible beneficiary in a transparent manner”, he said.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government aims to make the life of the common man easier by simplifying the process of delivery of citizen-centric services, while following the resolution of good governance.

The Chief Minister took feedback from the officers regarding the implementation of the government's schemes and administrative efficiency. In the meeting, the officers shared their experiences with the Chief Minister and also gave suggestions regarding various facilities related to IT.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government has implemented several administrative reforms to change the system so as to ensure transparency as well as accountability in the administration.

“We are working on the concept of Minimum Government – Maximum Governance. The present State Government has not only done the work of bringing readiness in administrative works by using IT but now while going a step further, has also set the time limit for the services provided to the citizens, due to which the trust of the common man has increased towards the government. It is only because of these radical changes that the common man no longer has to make rounds of the government offices in order to take benefits of any scheme or service they are entitled to”, he said.

The Chief Minister said that with the resolution of good governance, the government has taken up the task of uplifting Antyodaya and for the last 5 years, the state government takes one resolution every year. The year 2023 is being celebrated as Antyodaya Arogya Varsh, ensuring ‘Health for All’, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

He directed the officers to make people aware of the schemes of government during field visits so that they can take advantage of these schemes.

Officers should discharge their duties with full honesty and integrity

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on corruption. Corruption will not be tolerated at any level.

Calling upon the officers, the Chief Minister said, as an officer, each one of you has more responsibility towards society; therefore you should discharge your duties with full honesty and integrity.

The Chief Minister had earlier also held a meeting with the HCS officers of the 2019 batch. From time to time, meetings are held with IAS and HCS officers regarding the implementation of government policies and schemes, so that more administrative reforms can be implemented as needed.

Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr Amit Agrawal, President, HCS Association, Smt. Varsha Khangwal, OSD to Chief Minister, Sh. Sudhansu Gautam and other officers also remained present in the meeting.
