Chandigarh, January 8- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that as many as 5048 villages of the state are getting 24X7 power supply. Though, previously some may have promised about the same, but we have provided this facility without preaching about it.

 Mr. Manohar Lal was presiding over the meeting of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram today. In this meeting, a total of 14 problems were placed before the Chief Minister, out of which almost all were resolved on the spot.

 While resolving a problem related to electricity, the Chief Minister directed the Power Utilities officers to organize Janata Darbar in every area within a period of two months so that the problems related to power of that area can be solved. He said that         during the tenure of the present State Government, excellent work has been done in the field of electricity. When our government was formed in 2014, the line loss was 34 percent, which has now come down to 17 percent. Earlier, subsidy of Rs 7,000         crore was given, but now it has come down to Rs 6,000 crore and efforts are on to reduce it further, said the Chief Minister.

  He said that now smart meters are being installed in the State so that electricity consumers will be able to see their meter readings whenever they want and there will be transparency in terms of electricity consumption.

  The Chief Minister said that due to the installation of smart meters, the errors in electricity bills will also be reduced. If anyone has any doubt about the speed of their electric meter, then they can get it checked in the lab.

  On this occasion, Adviser, Public Safety, Grievances, Good Governance, Mr. Anil Rao, MLA Pataudi, Mr. Satya Prakash Jarawta, MLA Badshahpur, Mr. Rakesh Daultabad, MLA Gurugram, Mr. Sudhir Singla, Mayor Gurugram, Mrs. Madhu Azad, Deputy    Commissioner, Gurugram, Mr. Yash Garg, Commissioner of Police, Mr. K. K. Rao, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Gurugram,  Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh and several officials were present.
