Chandigarh, July 2: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, while recognizing the dedication shown by volunteers during the Pandemic and to further encourage them to serve society said that a platform at the government level should be provided for all such people who are willing to serve the society selflessly.
The Chief Minister while presiding over a review meeting with officers concerned held here today said that by providing such a platform further improvements could be brought in the system.
The Chief Minister said that there are many people who wish to work willingly for the society and do not expect anything in return. Therefore the officers concerned should complete all the necessary formalities required to prepare the platform at the earliest so that such volunteers can willingly start giving their services.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that besides this, there are many such retired persons also in the society who want to do something for the society, hence it is very important to prepare an action plan while using their experiences. This will not only benefit the society but will also give self-satisfaction to these experienced people who wish to serve the society, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Citing Jerusalem, Israel as an example the Chief Minister said that there are more than 5000 people associated with the Ambu Bike service there. All of them are always ready to provide emergency services 24x7. As soon as the alarm rings in their mobile, they immediately reach the accident site with their Ambu Bikes to provide immediate help to the injured. From giving first aid and to taking the injured to hospital these volunteers work round the clock to help every injured person, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that it is very necessary to provide this kind of platform to the people who can serve the state with their dedication. He directed the officers to prepare blueprint in this regard at the earliest.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that although Durga Shakti App and Dial 112 facilities are also there for providing assistance in emergency, but still there is a large section of the society who while working in government service, wishes to serve the society. He said that a feeling of serving the society should be inculcated among every one
In the meeting, Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department and Resource Mobilization Adviser, Sh. Yogendra Chaudhary gave detailed information about this project and informed that 89680 people of the state had registered themselves while coming forward for service during the COVID Pandemic.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary Labour Department, Sh. V.S Kundu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department, Sh. A.K Singh, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal and Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar were also present on the occasion.
