Chandigarh, July 30: Sh. Hiteshwar Sharma, a resident of Panchkula, who topped the CBSE class XIIth examination across the country, today met Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal at his residence this evening. The Chief Minister had invited Hiteshwar on achieving this exceptional milestone in his academic career.
Congratulating, Sh. Hiteshwar for his brilliant academic achievement, the Chief Minister extended best wishes for his future.
The Chief Minister said that whenever next time he meets with Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, he will tell him that Sh. Hiteshwar Sharma, with whom he had interacted telephonically when he had topped class Xth exam, has also topped class XII this time.
Sh. Hiteshwar Sharma has secured the first position in the country by securing 99.8 per cent marks in the Arts stream.
While today remained a happy day for the State as on one hand Chief Minister formally launched the new 'National Education Policy (NEP) 2020' for the state, on the other, Hiteshwar Sharma topped the CBSE Class XII exam in Arts stream.
Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, on June 4, 2021, too had interacted with the toppers of board examinations of previous classes.
During that interaction, Prime Minister had asked Sh. Hiteshwar who had also topped the class X examination about his plans, then confident Hiteshwar Sharma had told the Prime Minister that only the way of conducting the examination has changed, but his preparation is the same, he had topped in the past and he will top it in future also.
Meanwhile, Sh. Hiteshwar, who was overwhelmed by the blessings of the Chief Minister, was asked about his plans, he said that he aspires to serve the country by becoming an IAS officer.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sh. Hiteshwar has also been representing the Haryana cricket team in the Under-17 category for the last three years. Last on January 26, 2020, Sh. Hiteshwar had attended the Republic Day parade as the 'Guest of Honour' of the Prime Minister.
Sh. Hiteshwar Sharma, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector-15, Panchkula, along with his father, Sh. Ashutosh Rajan, who is an HCS officer and is posted as Excise Collector, and mother Smt. Meenakshi Sharma, elder brother Munishwar Sharma, sister Namita Sharma had also come to meet the Chief Minister at his residence today.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister offered sweets to the entire family and also honorued Hiteshwar by presenting a picture of Goddess Saraswati.
