Chandigarh, July 8: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that while envisioning State Government's commitment to empower students with knowledge, skills and values to increase their employability by providing quality education, State is already leading the way to ensure successful implementation of the National Education Policy(NEP) by 2025.
The Chief Minister while presiding over a review meeting regarding the implementation of NEP in Haryana here today said that along with teachers, academicians and stakeholders wide publicity of the benefits of NEP should be done among the Children too so that they can choose courses as per their choice and career they wish to pursue.
Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal was also present during the meeting.
" Since the announcement of NEP, dedicated efforts have already been made by both State and Centre Government for spreading extensive awareness among the teachers, stakeholders, but making each child who is the real beneficiary of this Policy aware is need of the hour," said Sh. Manohar Lal.
During the meeting, top officials of four departments namely Women and Child Development, School Education, Higher Education and Technical Education apprised the Chief Minister about the blueprint of the successful implementation of NEP by 2025 as announced by him during the Budget session 2021.
The Chief Minister was apprised that the recommendations of NEP have already been placed in practice in Haryana and even the recommendations made by Haryana have also been included in NEP.
Ensure 100 per cent enrollment of school dropouts
The Chief Minister said that the target of every department should be to ensure 100 per cent enrollment of school dropouts.
He said empowering students with knowledge, skills and values to increase their employability is the utmost priority of the State Government, hence dedicated efforts should be made to ensure that every school dropout gets education.
He said that real time data of the dropouts should be prepared so that every such child is admitted to schools.
Ensure reopening of schools at the earliest
While highlighting the issue of reopening of the schools, the Chief Minister said that given the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, a plan should be made to reopen the schools at the earliest. At present, the schools, colleges and universities in Haryana are closed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
"As now the COVID-19 curve is flattened, therefore, the adequate arrangements while ensuring strict adherence of COVID-19 education institutes should be reopened at the earliest," said the Chief Minister.
Explore the possibility of opening one school in each district offering foreign languages
The Chief Minister said that possibilities of opening one school in each district offering foreign languages should be explored and as per the demand, the number of these schools should be increased.
The Chief Minister said that these schools should be opened having residential facilities. He said that a cluster plan should be made for these schools.
Admission in 1000 Playway schools to start soon
The Chief Minister was apprised that out of the 4000 playway smart schools, as announced by him, as many as 1000 such schools are ready to start the admission process as soon as the educational institutes are reopened.
It was further informed that the target of opening rest of the 3000 such schools would also be achieved by this year.
Haryana moving towards more holistic and multidisciplinary education
The Chief Minister while interacting with the media persons after presiding over the meeting said that as per the roadmap prepared for the successful implementation of NEP, Haryana has already adopted a more holistic and multidisciplinary education approach.
The Chief Minister informed that a plan has been executed for setting up Multidisciplinary Education and Research Universities.
He said that the departments concerned have made short term, mid term and long term strategies for achieving the target of implementation of NEP by 2025, which is five years ahead of the National target of 2030.
