Chandigarh, June 20 – While giving a big gift to Haryana that will further strengthen the road network in the State, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Sh Nitin Gadkari today dedicated 11 flyovers on the eight-lane National Highway from Delhi to Panipat at Sonipat today. The project with a length of 24 km has been completed at a cost of about Rs 900 crore.

On this occasion, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal thanked Union Minister Sh Nitin Gadkari for giving the gift of road projects to the people of the State.

Sh Manohar Lal said that 17 National Highways have so far been constructed in the State.  He said that perhaps Haryana in the only State in which all district headquarters have been connected to the National Highway. Apart from this, several projects are in the pipeline. He said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi has completed its tenure of nine years. On the other hand, the double-engine Government in Haryana has also done remarkably in every field in the last eight and a half years. Besides further strengthening the road and rail network, today a common man is also travelling by air. He said that the Haryana Government is working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Central Government in implementing the schemes.

The Chief Minister said that people are well aware of the atmosphere of fear, corruption and nepotism that was prevailing in the ten years tenure of the previous government in the State. But we have eliminated that system and provided a fearless atmosphere and graft-free governance to the people, he said. He said that the present State Government has given jobs to youth on a merit basis without any discrimination. We have completely eliminated the system of ‘’Kharchi’’ and ‘’Parchi’’ in the government jobs, asserted Sh Manohar Lal. Today, the youth is progressing towards education.

The present State Government hit hard on 3-C and 3-D

The Chief Minister said that the present State Government works on a principle that hit hard on 3Cs - Corruption, Crime and Caste-based Politics. He said that the Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. Apart from this, special emphasis has been laid on 5-S Shiksha (education), Swasthya (health), Svabhiman (self-respect), Suraksha (security) and Svavlamban (self-reliance). In Haryana, eligible citizens are getting the benefit of every scheme sitting at home through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).

He said that the Union Home Minister, Sh Amit Shah has also praised the present State Government for eliminating the Sarkar (Government) of 3D- Darbari, Damaad and Dealers that was being run in the State earlier.

The present state government is way ahead of the previous Congress Government in many ways

Sh Manohar Lal said that the present State Government is way ahead of the previous Congress Government in many ways. The leader of the opposition parties used to make a lot of announcements, but never acted to implement the same. We have worked on that announcement after coming to power.

He said that during the tenure of the Congress Government, the farmers used to get compensation at the rate of Rs 6,000 per acre. Though they increased this amount to Rs 10,000 but did not give even a single penny. Our government paid that compensation to the farmers. He said that compensation amounting to about Rs 1250 crore was given to the farmers during the 10 years tenure of the previous Congress Government whereas, the present State Government has so far given compensation amounting to Rs 11,0000 crore in the last eight-and-a-half years.

He said that from the procurement of crops on MSP to Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana to make farmers risk-free, our Government has always worked in the interest of farmers. An amount of Rs one thousand has been given to sunflower growers under the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana. He said that during the tenure of Congress, an old age allowance of Rs 1000 per month was given but we have enhanced it to Rs 2750 per month. This amount of pension is the highest in the country; he said adding that this old age allowance would be further enhanced to Rs 3000 per month in this tenure. 

He said that financial assistance of Rs 31,000 was given under Vivah Shagun Yojana during the previous government which has now been increased upto Rs 71,000. Similarly, people belonging to Scheduled Castes used to get an amount of Rs 25,000 for repair of houses whereas, the present State Government is giving Rs 80,000. Not only this, during the previous government only 538 villages were getting 24-hour electricity, whereas at present, 5737 villages are getting round-the-clock uninterrupted supply of electricity.

As against 86,000 jobs given during ten years of the previous government, 1.10 lakh jobs have so far been given

Sh Manohar Lal said that 86,000 jobs were given during the ten-year tenure of the previous Congress Government in the State. Whereas on the completion of 10 years of our government, 1. 70 lakh jobs would be given to the youth. While 1.10 lakh jobs have so far been given, 60,000 more jobs would be given within the next six months.

He said that the leaders of the previous government used to make hollow announcements on the metro. Whereas, after coming to power, the present State Government expanded the metro projects in the State. He said that an amount of Rs 1600 crore had been spent in ten years of the previous government whereas, we have so far spent Rs 3900 crore. He said that the metro would be expanded upto Kundli. Apart from this, RRTS has been approved from Sarai Kale Khan to Panipat and Karnal and construction work would start soon, he added.

He said that in the field of medical education and research, Rs 903 crore was spent during the previous government in the State whereas, during the tenure of the present State Government an amount of Rs 1683 crore has so far been spent. The present State Government has also completed all those works which were left unfinished by the previous government, he asserted.
