Chandigarh, June 23- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Sant Kabir Jayanti. He said that Sant Kabir Ji did not belong to any one caste or sect, but he was like a guiding light for the entire human race. His words and teachings are immortal and render a fresh lease of life even today.
In a message issued here today on the eve of Sant Kabir Jayanti, the Chief Minister said that Sant Kabir was such a poet, who devoted his entire life to social reform and welfare.
The Chief Minister said that in order to make today's youth aware of the life and teachings of great men like Sant Kabir Das, Sant Ravidas and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the State Government has taken a unique initiative to officially celebrate their anniversaries. He appealed to the people of the state to inculcate high ideals of sants and mahatmas in their lives so that the feeling of hatred ends in the society and people live in harmony with equality, love and brotherhood for each other.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the people to celebrate all festivals and social and religious programmes while adhering to the social distancing norms due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
