Chandigarh, June 8- Giving transparent and accountable governance to its citizens has always remained the utmost priority of the Manohar Lal-led government. For the past eight and half years, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has launched several IT initiatives like CM Window, Jan Samvad,  Nagar and Gram Darshan portals so as to ensure the voices of the people do not go unheard. In fact, the grievance redress mechanism launched by the state government is the gauge to measure its efficiency and effectiveness.

Taking this mechanism a step further, Sh. Manohar Lal along with his Administrative wing, MPs, MLAs and eminent persons have started holding direct interaction with the common man at his residence Sant Kabir Kutir, Chandigarh so as to ensure prompt and effective redress to their grievances.

Continuing the series of these direct public interactions, the Chief Minister today interacted with the eminent people of the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency and officials of various departments.

During this, he stated that the government holds such interactions with the public for four to five hours and ensures that during this time, they can freely express their concerns before him and the officers concerned.

“The government's goal is to make people's lives happier by resolving their grievances. Officers have also been directed to address concerns and ideas from eminent citizens on a priority basis. The suggestions shared by the eminent people in such meetings are also taken into consideration on a priority basis,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that as such interaction programmes raise public expectations. Therefore the officers must make this redressal mechanism more user-friendly.

During the interaction, Sh. Manohar Lal also directed that the mapping of schools and sports stadiums should be done on the same lines as mapping was done to open a college in a 20 km radius.

He said that education and sports are a vital part of the overall development of any child.
