Chandigarh, March 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that politics should be on one’s own potential and not by seeking help for fulfilling election promises. The Chief Minister said this after a meeting with NABARD officers in response to a question asked by a journalist regarding the demand of a package from the Central Government made by the newly appointed Punjab Government for fulfilling the election promises.
Expanded the scope of investigation in the matter of registries
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while interacting with the reporters after attending the annual planning meeting with the officers of NABARD at Haryana Niwas today said that the priorities of the government have been conveyed to NABARD. To which NABARD has agreed to work accordingly. On the question of a senior officer writing a letter, the Chief Minister said that he has not received any official letter. His government has already sought clarification from 350 people regarding the issue of 55,000 registries. He said that the government has also brought the registries from 2010 to 2016 under the scanner.
*Haryana's share in Chandigarh as well*
On the recent visit to Chandigarh by Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, the Chief Minister said that till now the issue has not been discussed. However, he clarified that the quota of 60 per cent and 40 per cent of Punjab and Haryana for Chandigarh is even applicable today. No right of any state is being taken away from Chandigarh, but it is also a fact that Chandigarh itself is a Union Territory.
*Insulting public opinion and against the self-reliance of the State*
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the promises made during the election should be fulfilled on one’s own potential and not by seeking financial help from the Central Government. He added that this is not a good practice and it is an insult to public opinion and against the self-reliance of the state.
