Chandigarh, May 1: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal while extending best wishes and congratulating the workers of the country and the state on International Labour Day, said that the dedicated and hardworking workers have always played a significant role in the progress of the country.

"It is only because of them, the economic activities and industrial development of the country and the world have achieved new heights.

In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that since last year workers too have suffered a lot due to COVID-19 infection, but in this hour of crisis, the government has taken care of the workers in every possible way.

He said that for the Administration the current surge in COVID-19 cases has certainly a serious matter of concern, however, dedicated efforts are being made by the State Government to contain the virus spread.   The 'Work From Home' concept has been adopted by government offices so that lockdown is not imposed.

The Chief Minister said that industrial activities will not be stopped so that the economy of the State is not affected.  Industries have been asked to call workers on work in two or three shifts while strictly following the COVID-19 Protocol.
