Chandigarh, May 10 - In the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Department High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC) and High Power Works Purchase Committee chaired by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal held here today, procurement and contracts worth Rs. 275 crore were approved.
Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal, Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal and Minister of State for Labour, Sh. Anoop Dhanak also remained present in the meeting.
Later addressing the media after the meeting, Sh. Manohar Lal shared that a total of 26 agendas were placed in the meeting of Irrigation, Police, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Public Health Engineering Department, out of which 18 agendas were approved.
Today after making negotiations with various companies, the government has saved about Rs. 7.07 crore, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
Claims worth Rs. 70 crores settled under Pashudhan Bima Yojana
The Chief Minister informed that in the meeting the proposal to enter into a rate contract with the insurance company dealing with Pashudhan Bima Yojana was also approved. He said that this Bima Yojana is proving very effective. Under this scheme, a claim worth Rs. 70 crores has been given to the farmers, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
To bring transparency in tenders, the government streamlined the procedures
Responding to a media question, the Chief Minister informed that the state government has streamlined the arrangements to bring transparency to tender processes. Earlier, the negotiation was done only with the L-1.
“We have made a system under which contractors, companies up to L-5 are called for negotiations where the bid amount is in the range of 5 percent. This system has been implemented so that rates can be fixed in a competitive manner,” shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that the aim of the government is that every single penny of the public should be spent in a transparent manner.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Sh. Ankur Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Director General of Police, Sh. P K Agrawal, Chairman, Power Discoms, Sh. P.K Das and Advisor to Chief Minister (Irrigation), Sh. Devender Singh also remained present.
