Chandigarh, May 15- To promote the plywood industry in Haryana, the first Forest Research Institute will be set up in the state at a cost of Rs. 50 crore.

This announcement was made by the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while addressing the gathering at the Haryana Pragati Rally held at Jagadhri today. Earlier, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various projects costing about Rs.334 crore.

Sh. Manohar Lal also announced the conversion of 10 bedded hospital at Sadhora to 50 bedded hospital.

Apart from this, he also announced construction of new college building on 14 acres of land in Kishanpura village at a cost of Rs. 680 crore, making Farukhpur school a Model Sanskriti School. Besides this,  various development works for the four assembly constituencies of district Yamunanagar were also announced.

Wheat procurement will start again, mandis will remain open till May 25

Sh. Manohar Lal said that this time the production of wheat has decreased and wheat has also been exported this time during the wheat season. Therefore, in view of the crisis of wheat in the country, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has banned the export of wheat.

In order to ensure that every poor person of the country gets food grains, wheat will be procured again in Haryana for 10 days as per the decision of the Central Government and it will start from from May 16, which will continue till May 25. Farmers who want to sell their wheat can come to the mandis.

End of era of corruption, Sh. Manohar Lal

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the present state government is taking all possible steps to eliminate corruption and the corrupt person, whether it is a politician, officer, employee or any person who works to promote corruption will not be spared.

He said that it was the habit of the previous governments that they did not take any action against those found involved in corruption and today they say that corruption has increased in Haryana, while we ourselves have caught the corrupt. Our only resolve is to end corruption.

Industrial clusters are being built in the state

Sh. Manohar Lal said that in order to promote business, the State Government is planning to set up an industrial cluster in 50 to 100 acres in every block, so that the youth get employment opportunities. Five clusters will be formed in the five blocks of Yamunanagar.

He said that in the last 7 years, the State Government has got development works done equally in all areas without any discrimination. In the last 3 years, development works worth about Rs.1,087 crore have been done in Yamunanagar district.

He said that a network of roads has been laid in the state. 17 National Highways were approved, out of which 6 have been completed and work is being done on 11 of them. National Highway has been approved from Yamunanagar to Pehwa, the construction work for which has started. Similarly, Karnal to Yamunanagar railway line has also been approved, its survey is being done, soon its benefits will be available.

He said that industrial areas would be developed on the lines of Gurugram in the adjoining districts of Chandigarh i.e. Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Kurukshetra. He said that 58 ROBs/RUBs have been created in the state in the last 7 years, whereas only 45 ROBs/RUBs have been made during the tenure of the previous governments.

He said that a project for the revival of Saraswati river has also been started. Under this, two dams will be built and one dam will be built at Adi Badri. Due to which an uninterrupted stream of water will flow into the Saraswati river. Similarly, it is also planned to build a huge memorial of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Lohagarh, for which land has been acquired and the construction work of the memorial will start soon.

He said that the State Government is making 200-bed hospital at every district centre. Under this scheme, a 200-bed hospital has been completed in Yamunanagar. Apart from this, a medical college dedicated to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji will also be built at Yamunanagar, which will cost around Rs. 400 crore.

Poor families are getting benefits of government schemes sitting at home

The Chief Minister said that the present State Government concerned with the welfare of the poor and the Mukhyamantri Antodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana has been started to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach the doorsteps of the poor families. Under this, families with an income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh are now getting the benefits of all types of schemes sitting at home. People no longer have to make rounds of government offices to take advantage of schemes like BPL card or old age pension, they are automatically getting the benefit of these schemes. Under this initiative of the government, about 88,000 BPL cards have been made in two districts i e , Kurukshetra and Sirsa in the last three months and now BPL cards will start being made in other districts as well.

He said that 570 fairs were organized in the state under Mukhyamantri Antodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana to provide employment opportunities to poor families to strengthen them financially. During these fairs, 42,000 people have been provided loans through banks for self-employment. The government's target is to make 1 lakh people self-reliant, and for this, these fairs will be organized again from next month.

He said that a college has been built for girls in every 20 km radius, so that girls do not have to travel long distances to get education. Apart from this, along with education, the students will also be taught skills so that they become employable.

Apart from this, there is a provision of Common Eligibility Test for new jobs so that the youth can take the exam by filling a form and they will also have to pay the fee once in 3 years.

Earlier, Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that no one is discriminated against and development is done considering everyone as equal. Haryana is being developed equally without any discrimination under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.

He said that earlier the price of poplar was Rs. 250 to 300 per quintal but the present government ended corruption, as a result of which today the price of poplar is Rs. 1,400 per quintal, due to which farmers cultivating wood are getting huge benefits.

He said that Haryana is the first state in the country where tablets are being distributed to school students for studies. The government has set a target of giving 5 lakh tablets to the students of class X to XII studying in government schools of the state, out of which more than 3 lakh tablets have been distributed to the students and the rest will be distributed soon.
