Chandigarh, November 11– Haryana Chief Minister has directed officers of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department to prepare water account data regarding water sources and use, so that the availability and use of water per acre can be analyzed and a plan for proper water management for the coming years can also be prepared.
Special focus should be given on the meticulous implementation of Treated Waste Water (TWW) Policy so that in the coming years proper water management can be ensured in colonies developed by Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, industrial estates developed by HSIIDC. Further, the same can also be ensured in colonies developed by private developers, directed Sh. Manohar Lal while chairing an important meeting held here today.
Under this Policy, emphasis will be laid on lying of double pipelines and setting up of micro STPs.
During the meeting detailed discussion was held on various topics including ensuring availability of water according to the population of the year 2030 in Gurugram, increasing the capacity of Gurugram water supply channel, remodeling of Mewat feeder channel. Apart from this, a presentation on the activities of Micro Irrigation and Command Area Development Authority (MICADA) to promote micro irrigation was also shown.
Adviser, Irrigation to Chief Minister, Sh. Devender Singh, Engineer-in-Chief, Dr. Satbir Kadian and other officers of the department remained present in the meeting.
