Chandigarh, November 18- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the country's first skill university established by the state government to provide the youth with education while honing their skills is proving to be a milestone, because skill is the only thing in the country that can help advance the society and the nation.
The Chief Minister had reached Palwal today to attend the third foundation day programme of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University as the Chief Guest. Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma was also present during the programme. Sh. Manohar Lal also reviewed the progress of the ongoing works in the University.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this university with the goal of providing skill-related education to the youth as per the need of the times. This university will prove to be a milestone in taking forward the Prime Minister's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaign.
The Chief Minister said that this university has been a complete success in the vision with which this university was established. The state government has succeeded in making the youth skilled in various fields. He said that students are getting skills from this university and employment is being created. He said that there is a need to understand the difference between studies and skills. Only skill can take the nation, society and nation forward.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that by the year 2030, 12,000 skilled youth will graduate every year from the university. At present, 4,000 skilled youths are being imparted skills every year in the university. He said that every industry should start skill related courses and affiliate themselves with this university, so that students get maximum employment.
He said that the University is working with an industry integrated 'Earn-While Learn' model, which provides opportunities to the students to study as well as earn. It provides exposure to the students by exposing them to the world of real employment, so that they can get better employment in future.
Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that the students should create some new innovations in the field of their skill and strengthen themselves. He said that the Skill University has been created by the government to impart maximum skills to the students.
He said that the University is entering into MoUs with Maruti India Limited, Reliance, Healthians, and Anand Group to explore the possibility of developing customized programmes for employees of industries and conducting skill upgradation programmes through its Centre of Excellence.
Sh. Manohar Lal and Sh. Mool Chand Sharma and other dignitaries installed an idol in the temple built in the University.
The Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Sh. Raj Nehru expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister and all the dignitaries present in the programme. He said that the University has made many achievements in various fields in such a short span of time.
MLA, Prithla, Sh. Nayanpal Rawat, MLA, Palwal, Sh. Deepak Mangla, MLA, Hathin, Sh. Praveen Dagar, MLA, Hodal, Sh. Jagdish Nair, and other dignitaries attended the programme.
