Chandigarh November 2- For the past nine years, working in line with the principles of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya vision, the Manohar Lal-led government has been working towards uplifting those at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid.
The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s vision manifested today when the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, arrived as the Chief Guest at the Antyodaya Mahasammelan, held here to mark the 57th anniversary celebrations of Haryana Day at Karnal today.
This state-level programme proved significant in many ways as the event saw significant participation by women, with 5 out of 17 entrances exclusively for women.
In the heart of Haryana lies the Karnal district, a place that historically sowed the seeds of the Green Revolution and is now nurturing a promising transition toward what's been coined as the White Revolution. This transformation, spearheaded by Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, extends far beyond agriculture, encapsulating a paradigm shift towards gender equality and societal progress.
At the core of this evolution stands the figure of Sultan Singh, a fish farmer from Karnal who was recently bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri Award, signifying the district's contributions to the realm of agriculture. Karnal, once a significant player in the Green Revolution, is now embracing diversification, notably progressing towards what seems to be a White Revolution, possibly indicative of a burgeoning focus on dairy and animal husbandry, marking a shift in the district's agricultural landscape. The district is making advancements in the cooperative sector, evident from the inauguration of an Agro Mall by Union Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, transformed into a HAFED Export House. This initiative centralised HAFED products for ease of export.
Antyodaya Mahasammelan unfolded as a platform not only for social service but also as a beacon for women's empowerment
Marking the 57th anniversary celebrations of Haryana Day today, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah along with the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal attended the Antyodaya Mahasammelan held at Karnal. The event unfolded as a platform not only for social service but also as a beacon for women's empowerment. The significant female presence emphasised the ongoing commitment to inclusivity and equality.
As the Union Home Minister fervently interacted with the gathering, the interaction reflected the ideals of the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, on prioritising the service to society through the spirit of Antyodaya. This unequivocally indicates that Manohar Lal remains the favoured leader of the party for the upcoming elections.
5 out of the total 17 entrances exclusively designated for women
The Antyodaya Mahasammelan showcased noticeable female participation, with 5 out of the total 17 entrances exclusively designated for women. These particular gates saw continuous queues of women eagerly entering the event. It was heartening to see even the women police officers wholeheartedly assisting and ensuring the smooth entry of female attendees.
In addition to the event's beneficiaries, some women who had fulfilled their duties in the community kitchen were present to listen to the speeches delivered by the Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister. Their active presence demonstrates a commitment to balancing responsibilities while actively engaging in significant public gatherings. This level of inclusive participation underscores the importance of involving women from diverse backgrounds and roles in such forums, ensuring a more comprehensive representation. Interestingly, Chief Minister's Jan Samvad notably saw a strong representation of women.
Sh. Manohar Lal's efforts have resulted in a historic shift, with over 50 percent of Panchayati Raj Institutions now including educated women. Women Sarpanches, sharing the stage with the Chief Minister during these public discussions, express a sense of honour and empowerment.
Antyodaya Mahasammelan Amplifies Manohar Sarkar’s Commitment to Empower the Marginalised
The Antyodaya Mahasammelan held today not only amplifies Manohar Sarkar’s commitment to empower the marginalised but also holds profound significance for Chief Minister Manohar Lal, akin to a crucial exam.
Back in 2014, when he assumed the charge as the Chief Minister, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi entrusted him with the pivotal responsibility of spearheading the nationwide ’Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign in the historic city of Panipat on January 22, 2015.
Under his leadership, collaborative efforts between governmental bodies, social organisations, enlightened individuals, and traditional institutions like Khap Panchayats bore fruit, resulting in a transformative shift in societal attitudes towards girls in Haryana. Notably, the gender ratio, once at 861 girls for every 1,000 boys, has now risen to 922, showcasing a commendable positive change.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal's relentless efforts have effectively removed the social stigma of female feticide, once a significant societal concern in Haryana. Today, the daughters of Haryana are excelling across various domains, be it sports, education, or even contributing to projects as prestigious as Chandrayaan-3.
This remarkable transformation signifies a paradigm shift in the perception of Haryana's daughters, reflecting the success of forward-thinking initiatives and the collective commitment to gender equality. Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal's dedicated endeavours and subsequent achievements not only reflect the progress within the state but also stand as an inspiring example for broader societal progress towards gender equality and empowerment.
In a monumental convergence of societal transformation, the Antyodaya Mahasammelan, mirroring the Chief Minister's Jan Samvad, became a dynamic platform where women's resounding presence shattered age-old stereotypes, affirming their prowess beyond conventional confines.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal's visionary dedication to empowering women was spotlighted through the fervent accolades of numerous women, acknowledging his relentless pursuit of educational equality within Panchayati Raj Institutions, a battle that reached the Supreme Court. Their participation not only symbolised their versatility and leadership in various domains, defying traditional norms but also underscored a profound narrative of progress in gender parity and women's empowerment, illuminating a path to a more inclusive and promising future.
