Chandigarh, November 8- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the present state government has taken the initiative for the care and service of elderly aged 80 and above. Under the Seva Ashram Yojana, arrangements for accommodation will be made for elderly over 80 years of age who live alone. Initially, arrangements for groups of 10 individuals will be made, informed Sh. Manohar Lal while addressing a Jan Samvad at Chhachhrauli today.
During this, he also announced a grant of Rs. 19 lakh for the repair of the Chhachhrauli Sports Club. Additionally, he directed the appointment of sanitation workers for the club. While interacting with an elderly woman Shanti Devi, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 80,000 for the repair of her house, in response to her request. Furthermore, a woman with a visually impaired daughter was promised financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 and the Red Cross was directed to create a special case to assist in this matter.
Responding to the request of a differently-abled student for an iPad, the Chief Minister approved the request. During the Jan Samvad, he directed the General Manager, Roadways to start a special bus service on the routes where the number of girls exceeds 50 in educational institutions, to ensure their ease of access. He also directed to start mini-bus services on the routes where there are 25 or more children.
Moreover, the Chief Minister directed the concerned BDO to survey about the vacant land near government college for the construction of par and vyayamshalas and parks.
The Samvad witnessed demands from the rural areas to start bus services from Chhachhrauli to Chandigarh and giving a prompt response to these demands, the Chief Minister directed the General Manager, Roadways to operate buses for the convenience of people travelling from Chhachhrauli to Chandigarh via Jagadhri.
“In the past nine years, the government has effectively executed the development works at a reduced cost. Simplifying people's lives and ensuring the accessible benefits of schemes was made possible through the provision of Parivar Pehchan Patra. Transparency in employment opportunities was established, curtailing nepotism and favouritism,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He shared that in the Yamunanagar district, 1962 youngsters have got employment based on their qualifications. Also, during the Samvad, the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to promptly implement district-level tasks discussed during the Samvad and promptly address the grievances from their respective locations. All concerns and demands raised by the attendees during the Samvad will be uploaded to a portal and addressed, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Like in every Samvad, the Chief Minister this time also distributed on-the-spot pension certificates to four elderly.
Deputy Commissioner, Captain Manoj, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Ganga Ram Punia and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
