Chandigarh, October 12: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has said that after treating the wastewater, maximum utilization of the same should be ensured.
The Chief Minister said this while presiding over a review meeting on the reuse of wastewater here today. During the meeting Chief Minister also learned about the technical aspects in the modern context.
The Chief Minister said that in view of the water crisis in the future, planning should be done to reuse the treated water wherever possible. A plan ensuring its maximum use should be made, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that the work should be completed by convening a special meeting of the officers of the concerned departments on this subject.
An authority should be set up to review the works
The Chief Minister said that an Authority should be set up to ensure maximum use of treated water so that the scheme could be implemented properly. This Authority should take forward the scheme in coordination with all the concerned departments, local bodies, HSIIDC and other authorities, he directed.
Supply for power plants
The Chief Minister said that treated water should be supplied for use in the power plants. For this, whatever necessary technology or infrastructure is to be prepared, accordingly steps should be taken for that at the earliest. This will lead to maximum saving of potable water for the future, he added.
Treated water should be used in building and industrial construction works
Sh. Manohar Lal said that wherever there are industrial clusters, treated water should be supplied for use in industrial works. Besides this, there is a need to use treated water at building sites also.
On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. P. K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and water resources Department, Sh. Devender Singh and senior officers of concerned departments remained present.
