Chandigarh, September 1- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval for laying of annual accounts of Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board for the year 2017-18 before the Legislative Assembly of the state.
The annual audited accounts of the Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board are required to be placed before the State Legislature as per the provisions contained in section 19A (3) of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (Duties, Powers and conditions of the service) Act, 1971.
The annual audit of the Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board for the year 2017-18 was conducted by the Accountant General (Audit) Haryana as per the provisions of section 19 (3) of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (Duties, Powers and conditions of the service) Act , 1971, as amended in 1984.
It is worth mentioning that Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board came into existence on February 1, 1969 as a result of bifurcation of composite Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board. It is a non-profit making service organization. It draws funds for its schemes/activities from the Central Government through Khadi and Village Industries Commission and the State Government.
The Cabinet also decided to authorize a Empowered Cabinet Sub Committee to approve such statements of accounts of statutory bodies that need to be placed before the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
