Chandigarh, April 14: Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the contribution of women is increasing in every sector of the society and they are now serving the people as public representatives as well. He said that the state government has given 50 percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions and they have done the work of expediting rural development today.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people during a Jan Samvad programme at Palwal’s Chandhat village today. He said that a Quality Assurance Authority has been constituted in the state which will check the quality of construction works.
He said that a budget of Rs 4.20 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Chandhat village. Besides, 96 youths of the village have been given jobs on the basis of merit, which proves that the government is not discriminating in giving jobs and it is being given without any parchi-kharchi.
He said that beautification of ponds is also being done in the village and the state government has started registries of houses built inside Lal Dora in the village. Apart from this, a gymnasium will be constructed in Chirwari village. The Chief Minister assured the people that their demand for setting up a medical college in Palek village would also be considered.
On the occasion, MLA Sh. Deepak Mangla, OSD to Chief Minister, Sh. Jawahar Yadav and other dignitaries were present.
