Chandigarh, July 29- The first meeting of the governing trustees of the Rohnat Freedom Trust will be held under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal here tomorrow. Apart from reviewing the development works being done by Rohnat Freedom Trust in village Rohnat of district, Bhiwani the works which are proposed to be undertaken would also be discussed in the meeting.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal would preside over the meeting through video conferencing.
It may be recalled that the tricolor was not hoisted in village Rohnat from the year 1947 to 2018. The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal on the occasion of Shahidi Diwas on March 23, 2018, had hoisted the National Flag for the first time in village Rohnat and announced to set up Rohnat Freedom Trust.
The spokesman said that this Trust has been formed in recognition of the significant contribution and unmatched sacrifices made by the brave sons of Rohnat village in the first freedom struggle of India so that proper development of the village could be ensured. The Trust is endeavoring to provide complete freedom to the villagers in political, social and economic dimensions by conducting various activities in the village for education, employment, skill training, construction of buildings, health facilities, youth development and welfare of women and the elderly.
It is pertinent to mention here that in recognition of the significant contribution made by the brave sons of Rohnat village in the First Freedom Struggle, the Rohnat Freedom Trust was established on September 21, 2018 as per the announcement made by the Chief Minister on March 23, 2018. A total of 12 announcements have been made by the Chief Minister for the development of Rohnat village, out of which work has been completed on eight and work is in progress on the remaining four announcements. An amount of about Rs 296 lakh has so far been spent on these development works. In addition, 10 other development works have been carried out under Haryana Rural Development Fund, on which an amount of about Rs 136.77 lakh has been spent.
Apart from this, the works which are proposed to be carried out in the village include setting up of a library in the war memorial established in the village, beautification of Dhab Johar, banyan tree and well, solar project for village school and street lights and to ensure connectivity from village Rohnat to Bohal.
