Chandigarh, July 14 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that the present State Government has so far given Rs. 1,846 crore as compensation to the farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

Mr. Dhankar was addressing the people in village Birdhana, district Jhajjar today.

He said that the compensation of crop loss has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre. Now, the minimum compensation for the farmer is Rs 500. In the last about five years, the government under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has released Rs 4,465 crore to the farmers and it is a record in itself. He said that the government has decided to give pension of Rs 6,000 annually to all the persons, whose income is less than Rs 15,000 per month.
