Chandigarh, December 1- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval to a proposal of the year 2020 of Gram Panchayat Mohna, Block Ballabgarh, District Faridabad to grant permission to gift of a plot measuring 200 Square Yards to Smt. Leela Devi mother of martyr Sh. Virender Kumar (Constable). The Gram Panchayat will gift the said land out of its land in shamilat deh.

Martyr Sh. Virender Kumar (Constable) resident of village Mohna, Block Ballabgarh, District Faridabad was martyred in Kargil War-1999.

Rule 13 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules, 1964 provides that a Gram Panchayat may, with the previous approval of the State Government, gift the land in shamilat deh vested in it for residential purpose upto the extent of 200 square yards, to the members of defence forces and paramilitary forces seriously injured and rendered handicapped or to the dependent families of such members killed, in any war or counter-insurgency operation during their service, not having sufficient residential accommodation.
