Chandigarh, November 1 - Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal today flagged off 40 new tippers and 2 JCBs from a ground situated at Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Sector-12, Karnal. These new tippers have been provided to Municipal Corporation, Karnal under the Smart City Project. The total number of tippers collecting garbage from houses has been increased to 90 in the corporation. Now there will be availability of 4 tippers in every ward instead of 2 across the city which will improve the work of garbage collection and transporting it to the solid waste plant.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Municipal Corporation and the people of the city on the inclusion of new tippers in the sanitation works of the Municipal Corporation. The new tippers are different from earlier tippers. Notably, the new 40 tippers have green and blue paint to segregate wet and dry waste and are equipped with separate boxes. With this, the sanitation workers will not face any problem while collecting and segregating garbage collected from door to door.
Besides this, two iron circles have been equipped on the rear side to dump biomedical waste and e-waste, in which dustbins will be placed for collection of such garbage.
While sharing information regarding new tippers, District Corporation Commissioner, Mr. Vikram said that the arrangements of cleanliness system will become better now. Karnal has already secured good rankings at the national level in terms of cleanliness. Now Karnal is certainly expected to gain its place amoung top 10 ranks by these measures. He also urged the households to separate the wet and dry waste while dumping the waste into the tippers. The Municipal Corporation had already distributed blue and green dustbins to all household for source segregation of garbage. Use these dustbins to dump garbage, he added.
In the programme, Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Smart City Limited, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav and District Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Vikram were present along with the local leaders of the city.
