  • Chandigarh, Aug 12 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the announcement of the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi  to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of kharif crops is a step towards achieving his target of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022. Farmers’ Welfare is the top priority of the present government both at the Centre and in the state.
  • The Chief Minister was addressing a largely attended public Kisan Dhanyavad rally at Gohana in district Sonipat, today.
  • He said that the prosperity of any state or country depends on the progress and prosperity of its farmers, which would lead to a new era of happiness in the world. 
  • He said that during its tenure of about four years, the present State Government had framed laws and policies to provide benefit of government schemes to the poor and brought complete transparency in providing jobs. He said that 30,000 Group D posts would soon be advertised. The State Government has so far provided more than 28,000 government jobs to youth in a transparent manner. He said that the government had revamped the entire system of transfers and providing jobs with the use of technology and fully eliminated role of middlemen.
  • He said that there would be no dearth of funds for development works in Gohana Assembly Constituency. Even today, inauguration and foundation stones were laid of various projects amounting to about Rs 53 crore. Apart from this, the Chief Minister approved demands worth Rs 56 crore for Gohana area on the spot. He announced to give Rs five crore for Gohana city and Rs 10 crore for development work in rural areas through Haryana Rural Development Fund. He said that soon a rally would be organised in Baroda Assembly Constituency and similar announcements would be made there for development works.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has realized the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ in true sense. He said that the Prime Minister had fulfilled the promise of One Rank One Pension and provided benefit of Rs 10,800 crore to ex-servicemen. On the other hand, Mr. Modi had announced to increase the Minimum Support Price of Kharif crops which provided benefit of Rs 33,500 crore to farmers. He said that the increase in MSP of kharif crops have benefitted the farmers of Haryana with Rs 1,500 crore. The paddy farmers would alone get Rs 1,200 crore, he added.
  • Mr. Dhankar said that the former Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda had misled the farmers on the name of implementing Swaminathan Report in Gohana Rally organised on November 10, 2013. He said that Mr. Hooda had announced giving compensation to the tune of Rs 10,000 per acre in case of damage caused to crops due to natural disasters, but in 2014, when he (Mr. Dhankar) became the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, he came to know that this was just an announcement and it was informed that compensation was given at a rate of Rs 6,000 per acre only. He said that when unseasonal rains had affected crops in 2015, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal announced compensation to the tune of Rs 12,000 per acre whereas the Swaminathan Report had suggested compensation at a rate of Rs 10,000 per acre only.
  • He said that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have worked for the welfare of farmers and taken steps greater than those mentioned in the Swaminathan Report. He said that the famers would now become financially sound after 70 years of independence of the country.
  • Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects at the rally venue. The Chief Minister inaugurated the beautification work and tiling of road from Fauhara Chowk to Drain number 8 at a cost of Rs. 49.50 lakh and road project from Rabhra village to Laath via Bali Brahminan at a cost of over Rs.188 lakh.  
  • The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of widening and strengthening of Gohana-Baroda-Julana rail road, at an estimated cost of Rs. 2401 lakh, construction of Mini Sports Complex at an estimated cost of over Rs.1137 lakh, construction of road alongside of Gohana Drain No. 8 to Mehmudpur at a cost of over Rs. 1318 lakh and widening and strengthening of mini bye pass from from Jind road to Meham road at an estimated cost of cost of Rs. 217 lakh.
  • Besides, the Chief Minister announced various developmental projects worth Rs. 56 crore for Gohana. It primarily includes construction of drain through village Khanpur at a cost of Rs. two crore, construction of bridge and wall on the drain passing through Barauta village at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh, construction of hall in Vaidya Dharmapal High School in Khanpur at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh, construction of hall in the mosque in village Dadoa at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh, construction of hall in the sports stadium of village Kaasdi at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh. In addition, construction of 11 roads of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board was announced on this occasion.
  • Others present on the occasion included Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover, Member of Parliament, Mr. Ramesh Kaushik, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Rajiv Jain and other dignitaries.
  • Chandigarh, Aug 12 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will  be the chief guest in programme organised by Finance Department and lead banks on promotion of digital transactions, BHIM App and disbursal of loans.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Mr. Manohar Lal would inaugurate 33 KV sub stations at Chogama and Bandrala. Apart from this, he would lay foundation stones of construction of community centres at village Kalampura and at village Pundrak.
  • The Chief Minister would also be flag off a motor cycle rally on National Integration at Karnal on August 13, 2018. Apart from this, he would inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various projects.
  • The spokesman said that later the Chief Minister would also visit Western Yamuna Canal Head Regulator at intersection of WJC and NH-44.
  • Chandigarh, Aug 12 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that investigation would be got conducted in the matter of inconvenience caused to patients in Kalpana Chawla Medical College and if anyone is found guilty then action would be initiated against him. “Our aim is to provide better medical facility to every person”, he added.
  • The Chief Minister was replying to a question of mediapersons after reviewing the progress of construction work of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Government Medical University at village Kutail in district Karnal, today.
  • He said that in the first phase, building of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Government Medical University would be ready by September 30, 2018. The building is being constructed modern technology which takes less time in construction and it would have better facilities than other institutions.
  • Interacting with engineers engaged on this project, the Chief Minister directed them to complete the work before time so that classes can begin from September. In case if classes could not start from September in this building then classes will be held in Kalpana Chawla Medical College for the time being. The construction work of the building of physiotherapy and nursing college  is being  carried out by the Hindustan Prefab Limited and is in full swing. The engineers informed the Chief Minister that the structure of the building has been erected and it is expected that the work would be got completed before September 30.
  • The Chief Minister said that a road would be constructed from GT road which would act as passage for the Medical University. As many as 28 acres land would be required for this passage for which farmers have been approached and soon work would start on it.
  • Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Gharaunda, Mr. Harvinder Kalyan said that this university is a big present given by the Chief Minister to the area. The setting up of this college would not only benefit people living in the nearby areas, but also people of Western Uttar Pradesh, North Haryana and other states. This would also provide employment opportunities to people of the area, he added.
  • Chandigarh, Aug 12- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today visited residence of late Sub Inspector Mr Narender Kumar at Hansi road in Karnal to express his condolences to the bereaved family. Mr Narender Kumar was shot dead by anti-social elements at Rohtak court.
  • Expressing sympathy and condolences with the family members of Mr Narender Kumar, the Chief Minister said that the state government shares the grief of the family. He presented a cheque of Rs 60 lakh to the family members of the deceased.
