  • Chandigarh, July 4—The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has hailed the decision of the Central Government to increase the MSP for all kharif crops for 2018-19 season as a historic step which redeems the promise made by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, to fix MSP at 150 per cent of the cost of production.
  • Reacting to the decision in the presence of jubilant farmers who had come dancing to his residence to thank him for the hike, the Chief Minister said, “The decision of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, will help boost farmers’ income, mitigate rural distress and administer the farm sector a booster dose. It is for the first time since Independence that such massive hike in MSP has been effected by any government”, he added.
  • It is gratifying to note that the MSP has been fixed after factoring in all paid-out costs, including those incurred on hiring human labour, bullock labour/machine labour, rent paid for leased in land and expenses incurred on use of material inputs like seeds, fertilizers, manures and irrigation charges, the Chief Minister added.
  • Dancing with glee, the farmers profusely thanked the Chief Minister who presented them with sweets. Agriculture Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar also present on this occassion.
  • Chandigarh, July 4 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has sanctioned a sum of Rs15 crore for the construction of 15 new Police stations including two women police stations across of the state.
  • While stating this here today, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that buildings of these police stations would be got constructed in 11 districts of Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Jind, Karnal, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat and Sonipat. Out of these, women police stations would be constructed in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri.
  • The DGP said that construction of these police stations would help in extending a better working environment and infrastructure facilities to police officials that would further help them in discharging their official duty in a better way.  We are empowering the police officials as they always perform their law and order duty round the clock. This move is an effort to accelerate investment in security so as to protect and ensure safety and security of its people and property of the state. Construction of these police stations would also encourage the police to deliver better, besides benefitting the general public.
  • Mr Sandhu said that State Police has emerged as one of the best police force in the country. He also thanked the Chief Minister for extending all out support and cooperation in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force.
  • The new police stations to be constructed included Police Station Barara in district Ambala, Women Police Station in Bhiwani and CIA Bhiwani, Women Police Station, Charkhi Dadri, Police Station Pataudi and Sector-65, Gurugram, Police Station Jhajjar, City Police Station Narwana and Civil Line Sector-7 in district Jind, Police Station Tarori in district Karnal, Police Station, Pinangwan in district Nuh, Police Station Samalkha in Panipat, Sadar Police Station, Gohana in Sonipat, first floor of Sector -20 Police Station, Panchkula and additional  floor of Police station, Sector-5 Panchkula.
