Chandigarh, June 25: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has accorded approval for the use of VG-40 grade bitumen in Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) and Bituminous Concrete (BC) works, where total required design bituminous layers is more than 40 mm, for all Major District Roads (MDRs) and State Highways (SHs) whether traffic is more than 20 Million standard axles (Msa) or not.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department said that Mr Manohar Lal has also accorded approval for the use of VG-30 grade bitumen in BC works where requirement of bituminous layers is less than 40 mm and also the plastic waste in bituminous wearing courses for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) works as per Ministry of Rural Development guidelines and for NH/Central Road Fund works as per Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) guidelines.
