Chandigarh, June 4: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has greeted the people of the country and the state on the occasion of Sant Kabir Dass Jayanti. He said that Sant Shiromani Kabir ji did not belong to any particular caste or community but is looked upon as a guide for the entire humanity. His sayings and teachings are relevant to this day, he added.
In a message issued here today on the eve of Sant Kabir Dass Jayanti, the Chief Minister said that Sant Shiromani Kabir is the only poet of Bhaktikal who devoted his entire life to social reforms and the welfare of society.
The Chief Minister said that in order to make today's young generation aware of the ideals and teachings of great personalities like Sant Kabir Das, Sant Ravidas and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Haryana Government has taken a unique initiative to officially celebrate the birth anniversaries of such great personalities and has set an example for the entire nation by doing so.
He urged the people of the state to imbibe the teachings and messages of such great personalities in their lives so that the sense of disharmony in the society ends and the spirit of equality, love, and brotherhood prevails.
Quoting Sant Kabir’s couplet, the Chief Minister said that Sant Kabir was against casteism and his couplet- ‘Jati-Paati Puchhe Nahin Koi, Hari Ko Bhaje So Hari Ka Hoi’ reflects this.
The Chief Minister said that during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have to celebrate all our festivals, social and religious programmes by following social distancing norms.
