Chandigarh May 14: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has thanked the Union Finance Minister, Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing the second tranche of the special Covid package worth Rs 20 lakh crore today and said that this economic package would benefit the migrants and the farmers of Haryana in a big way.
In a statement issued here today, Mr Manohar Lal said that for farmers, the Finance Minister has approved Rs 30,000 crore additional emergency working capital fund through NABARD, which is over and above Rs 90,000 crore to be provided through normal refinance route. Besides this, a Rs 2 lakh crore concessional credit boost to 2.5 crore farmers through the Kisan Credit Card Special drive would be given by the Centre.
He also thanked Mrs Sitharaman for announcing the launch of the National Portability Cards (One Nation One Ration Card) which can be used in any ration shop in any part of the country as migrants move from one state to another state. He also hailed the decisions to give 5 kg of wheat or rice per person and 1 kg of channa per family for non-PDS card holders for two months benefitting 8 crore migrants, affordable rental accommodation under PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) for migrants and the urban poor and setting up of Rs 6000 crore compensatory afforestation management and planning authority (CAMPA) fund for creating job opportunities in urban and semi urban and rural areas.
The Chief Minister said that the various other announcements made by the Union Finance Minister today ranging from MSME and Non Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) to real estate and power distribution and the salaried would infuse new vigour in the economy and benefit various economic sectors.
