  • Chandigarh, June 29- This Early Morning, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar  Lal himself drove the motorcycle  and reached Karan Stadium in Karnal, for surprise inspection of development works of football ground, synthetic track and barmunda grass. The development works are being carried out at the cost of about Rs Seven crore.
  • The Chief Minister also directed the officers concerned to ensure the timely completion of synthetic track and football ground for the facility of the players.
  • He said that the State Government has launched a number of welfare schemes for the betterment of the players so that they could excel in the field of sports and bring laurels not only for the state but also for the country.  
  • The Chief Minister also enquired Superintend Engineer (SE), Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department about water drainage system of the stadium. On the directions of the Chief Minister, the work of synthetic track and football ground would be completed by November,2018 while the deadline for the completion of work was fixed for December, 2019.
  • The Chief Minister also interacted with players in the stadium and enquired about the problems being faced by them. He also directed to ensure adequate supply of drinking water,  toilets for boys and girls in the stadium and time to time, the stadium should be cleaned.  
  • On the demand of the players, the Chief Minister also directed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a proposal for the construction of Skating Hall for the players in the stadium so that construction work could be started as early as possible. The present skating hall is too old and the new skating hall would be constructed on the modern pattern.
  • Chandigarh June 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has accorded administrative approval amounting to Rs 8.96 crore for the widening and strengthening of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Marg-II (Toka to Khatauli Section) in district Panchkula.
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister has also approved a proposal for the transfer of proposed 100 acres land of gram panchayat Bakhtawarpur alias Raiya to Maharana Partap Horticultural University, Karnal instead of Horticulture Department for a lease period of 33 years at the rate of Rs one per year per acre on same terms and conditions.
  • Chandigarh June 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has urged  the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to declare road stretch from Haryana-Punjab border-Ratia-Fatehabad with length of 31.658 kilometers falling in Haryana as National Highway.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department said that the proposed start point for the stretch falling in Haryana is at Haryana-Punjab Border and end point has been proposed at junction of project road with Fatehabad byepass which is part of Delhi-Hisar-Sirsa road NH-9 (Old NH-10). 
  • He said that this road connects NH-9 (Old NH-10) that is Delhi-Hisar-Fazilka road with NH-148B that is Kotputli-Narnaul-Bhiwani-Hansi-Tohana-Jakhal-Budhlada-Mansa-Bathinda road. These two main arteries carry interstate freight traffic from northern India. He said that by declaring Fatehabad-Budhlada road stretch as National Highway and upgrading it to NH standards, connection between the above two National Highways would reduce the travel time and improve the connectivity between Fatehabad (on NH-9) and Budhlada (on NH-148B).
  • He said that it serves as one of the main entry point to Punjab and connects Barnala, Mansa and Ludhiana towns. Besides, it also improves the economic activity from Hisar, Fatehabad and Uklana towns with nearby business centres of Punjab. Ratia and Fatehabad being major towns with an enhanced business activity would further facilitate their growth and development with this connectivity, he added.
  • The spokesman said that apart from the connectivity considerations, the development of this corridor has been perceived to be important from the prospective of enhanced mobility levels or standards of people, and with time more importantly in terms of direct benefit to the community by the way of value of time and vehicle operation cost savings towards achieving overall development in Haryana and districts of Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar in particular.
