- Chandigarh, March 9 – Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Prof. Ram Shankar Katheria said that Haryana government is making sincere efforts for the welfare of people belonging to Scheduled Castes.
- Prof. Katheria, who was addressing a press conference here today, expressed happiness that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal himself reviews relief and rehabilitation facilities being provided to the victims of atrocities in quarterly meeting of State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) in the state.
- He informed that Commission today held a meeting with the Chief Minister and other senior officers where various issues to further ameliorate the socio-economic status of people belonging to Scheduled Castes were deliberate upon. The opening of coaching centres for competitive exams and hostels were also discussed. After today’s meeting, it is hoped that pace of many ongoing schemes for the welfare of Scheduled Castes would be accelerated further in the state.
- He said that officers of the State government have been asked to expedite the process for providing immediate relief to the members belonging to the Scheduled Castes, who became victims of atrocities. Charge sheet should be completed at the earliest so that compensation could be provided to the victims, he added.
- He said that the Commission had also reviewed the schemes of SC and ST component and asked the officers to provide maximum benefit and relief to the victims through Central government schemes and programmes. Vice Chairman of the Commission, Mr L. Murugan, Members of the Commission, Mr K. Ramulu, Dr. Yogendra Paswan and Dr. Swaraj Vidwan, Principal Secretary, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Mr Anil Kumar and Director Mrs Geeta Bharti were also present on this occasion.
- Chandigarh March 9: Israel has evinced keen interest in mutual cooperation with Haryana in the fields of education, innovation, policing, irrigation and dairy farming besides further strengthening the collaboration in various ongoing agriculture and horticulture projects.
- Ambassador of Israel, Mr Daniel Carmon who called on Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today invited him to visit Israel to attend ‘Agritech-2018’ scheduled to be held from May 8 to 10, 2018 to view the latest technology being adopted by Israel. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P Dhankar was also present on this occasion.
- While referring to the centre of excellence set up in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that he has recently inaugurated the country’s first ‘Integrated Bee-keeping Development Centre’ set up under Indo-Israel project in Kurukshetra. He said that an outlet has been set up at the centre where honey and other horticulture products are being directly sold to the consumers. Apart from this, directions have been issued to sell these products on all the outlets of Haryana Fresh.
- Mr Daniel Carmon said that four centres of excellence have been set up in Haryana under the Indo-Israel project and work is underway for the setting up of fifth such centre. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation from Haryana and hoped that this would go a long way in opening more such centre in the State. While appreciating the Centre of Excellence in Gharaunda, Karnal, he said that the Centre enjoys visit from other countries and they want the same centre in their countries.
- The Israel Ambassador requested the State Government to encourage the people of Haryana to join MASHAV courses in Israel Universities as there is lot of demand in the State for these courses. These are short term courses and entire expenditure would be borne by the University except the travel fare, he added. Besides, he also invited the students from Haryana under the Academic Scholarship scheme.
- Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P Dhankar invited Mr Daniel Carmon to attend the 3rd Agri Leadership Summit to be held in Rohtak. He said that last year also, a delegation of Israel had participated in the summit.
- Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Dr Abhilaksh Likhi said that the State Government is also contemplating to open post harvest management centres in the State. He said that a delegation of Architect students of Israel visited the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today to watch the proceedings of the house.
- Director General, Horticulture Mr Arjun Saini was also present on this occasion.
- Chandigarh March 9—The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has hailed the Budget presented by the Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu, today as one which will further propel growth, make it inclusive, push employment, and turn farming into more remunerative proposition.
- Reacting to the Budget proposals, the Chief Minister said here today that the emphasis on economic services and skilling, reflected in higher outlays, will not only help generate jobs but also boost employability of the youth. The effort made to combine fiscal prudence with sagacious use of resources to optimize their effect is laudable.
- “That 28.7 per cent of the total budget has been allocated to economic services, including rural development, and 33.89 per cent has been allocated to social services more than underscores the attempt to lace growth with social welfare”, he said.
- Besides, the thrust on agriculture rural development will better the lot of the farmers and make life in the rural areas better by creating more opportunities, he added.
- Chandigarh, March 9 – In a remarkable achievement, Jhajjar district in Haryana has reached the figure of sex ratio at birth to 920 in December 2017 as compared to 825 at the time of launch of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi in 2015. Now, the target has been set to reach sex ratio at birth to atleast 950 by December 2018.
- This achievement was shared by the Deputy Commissioner Jhajjar, Mrs Sonal Goel before the President, Mr Ram Nath Kovind during Nari Shakti Puraskar at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. The President appreciated the initiative of Jhajjar district in improving the SRB and urged to target to make the ratio equal. Mrs Goel informed that according to census 2011, Jhajjar distict reported a child sex ratio of 774 compared with the national average of 914 and the state average of 830. The sex ratio at birth was 825 in Jhajjar, one of the lowest in country in the year 2015.
- She said that the launch of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme in Haryana and being steered by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal was the first time that all the three key departments, Health, Women and Child Development and Education worked comprehensively in union for all the activities conducted under the campaign.
- She said that multi pronged strategy and multiple targeted interventions of enforcement as well as community engagement were adopted at behavioural change. As part of enforcement drives, 28 raids have been conducted under PC PNDT Act 1994 including inter- district and inter-state raids. Registration of pregnancy in first trimester is targeted by district administration; close to 90 per cent has been achieved, one of the highest than state average.
- Under Community engagement, social rituals and customs related to celebration of birth of male child are being promoted to celebrate the birth of girl child like Kuan Pujan, Kalash yatra, etc; targeted interventions are being made in panchayats with low sex ratio at birth; local champions have been identified, BBBP fair etc being organize. For promoting education of girls; initiatives are being taken under ‘Saksham Haryana’ for enhancing learning competency levels.
- To counter drop outs among school going girls, District Jhajjar initiated a pilot project called ‘Umang-Ek Pehel’ where adolescent girls are provided with free of cost sanitary napkins and awareness workshops on menstrual health management. The sanitary pads are produced by Self- Help Group in the district and provide monthly sanitary napkins to girls in the government schools. This has effectively reduced dropouts and motivated girls to attend schools during their menstrual cycle.
- Mrs Goel stated that it’s because of the constant guidance by Chief Minister’s Office and Department of Women and Child Development led by WCD Minister Mrs Kavita Jain and the motivation of field staff that Jhajjar has been able to engage in exhaustive community engagement.
- Apart from the deliverables government initiatives, Jhajjar administration has been collaborating with other NGO’s and civil society bodies to create a greater impact towards women empowerment in the region. Participation of girls in sports is also encouraged.
- A small booklet ‘Mhari laado’ highlighting the activities under BBBP and related schemes was presented to the President.
- Chandigarh March 9- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that a project was prepared for artificial groundwater recharging in different parts of the State through Injection Wells. In total, 390 Injection Well sites were identified for the project, of which, 130 sites are feasible and selected for recharging.
- The Chief Minister was replying to a question raised by MLA Mr Parminder Singh Dhull regarding setting up of Injection Wells to use flood water for irrigation and conservation of underground water during the question hour of the ongoing Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
- He said that out of 130 feasible sites, injection wells had been installed at 87 sites by incurring an expenditure of Rs 153.16 lakh from the State Funds till date. Work for remaining sites is under progress in various districts of the state, he added.
- While giving details of location of 87 Injection Wells, he said that 16 structures have been installed in BWS Circle-I, Fatehabad at Ratia, Munshiwala, Allawlwas, Mudh, Behbalpur, Hizrawan, Chan Kothi, Bhodia Khera, Balyali, Kudni and Meyond, the remaining 4 are to be taken up during 2018-19 with expenditure of Rs 35 lakh, in Fatehabad district and 14 structures have been installed in BWS Circle-I, Sirsa at Rori, Thiraj, Malhari, Bhima, Alikan, Moriwala, Bajekan, Kanganpur and Desujodha with expenditure of Rs 32.52 lakh, in Sirsa district.
- He said that seven structures have been installed in JLN W.S Circle, Rewari at Musepur, Berli Kalan, Berli Khurd, Dohki, Mandiya and Kalan with expenditure of Rs 18.49 lakh, in Rewari district and 50 structures have been installed in JLN W.S Circle, Narnaul at Badkoda, Kojinda, Narnaul City, Bhagrana, Canal Colony Narnaul, Bawwa, Mahrampur, Totaheri, Patikra, Panihari-Palri, Bhungharka, Katkai and Sagarpur, with expenditure of Rs 67.15 lakh, eight extra injection wells for recharging in village ponds, in Mahendragarh district.
- While the location of other injects well sites in circles are YWS Circle, Jind, YWS Circle, Bhiwani, HKB Circle, Jagadhri, BWS Circle-I, Hisar, BWS Circle-I, Kaithal, SYL W.S. Circle, Ambala, YWS Circle, Faridabad, YWS Circle, Sonipat, YWS Circle, Rohtak, Loharu and W.S Circle, Bhiwani.
- Chandigarh March 9- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the state government is in process of setting up two Gau-Abhayaranyas, one in village Nain District Panipat and the other at Dhandoor village in Hisar district, for rehabilitation of stray cattle.
