Chandigarh, Oct 20 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, will pay homage to martyred police personnel in a state level function to be organized at Police Lines, Moginand in Panchkula on October 21, 2020.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that ACS Home Mr Rajeev Arora, Director General of Police, Haryana Mr Manoj Yadava and other senior police officers, besides family members of brave hearts will also be present on this occasion. As many as 264 police personnel including two from Haryana Police attained martyrdom during discharge of their duties in the country in the last one year. So far, in total about 35000 police personnel have sacrificed their lives to maintain peace and security in the country, he added.
Observed on October 21 every year, the Police Commemoration Day remembers the sacrifices of ten policemen who died in Chinese firing in 1959 at ‘Hot Springs’ at Ladakh.
