  • Chandigarh, Apr 12 – Gurugram will have a multi specialty hospital under Public-Private Partnership mode at Sector 67 for which in-principle approval has been given in the second meeting of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) which held  under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, at Gurugram today. The process has been started  for establishing Sheetla Mata Medical College, he added. the Chief Minister said that 40 cusec more water would be supplied during summer.
  • The GMDA budget of Rs 1025.60 crore for the year 2018-19 was passed in the meeting. 
  • For  extension of Metro, the Chief Minister said that a special session would be called for holding discussions on Metro extension. In today’s’ meeting, discussion was also held on this topic and considered metro extension from Dwarka Sector-21 to Gurugram railway station and old town.
  • The Chief Minister  said that under the Smart City initiative, CCTV cameras would be installed in the city for which survey has already been conducted and the detailed project report would be prepared by the end of this month. He said that under the Smart City Project, optical fibre would also be laid in the city. It has also been decided to construct multi level parking at old veterinary hospital by Municipal Corporation and at old jail by GMDA.
  • He said that it has been decided that six-lane road would be constructed from Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Dwarka Expressway at a cost of Rs 11 crore. The tender for this project would be floated on April 30. He said that the foundation stone of renovation work of local Lieutenant Atul Kataria Chowk would be laid on May 15 and a sum of about Rs 81.38 crore would be spent on it. Similarly, tenders for City Bus Project would also be floated on April 30. The construction work of 328 bus que shelters for City Bus Service has been started, he added.
  • Apart from this, Athletics Astroturf would be laid at Tau Devi Lal Stadium for which administrative approval of Rs 8.02 crore has already been given and tenders have been invited. He said that tourism spot would be developed around water reservoir at village Wazirabad and its design was being prepared. A multi specialty hospital would be got constructed under Public-Private Partnership mode at Sector 67 for which in-principle approval has been given in today’s meeting.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said that a scheme has been prepared for improvement of Mahavir Chowk, for giving more inputs in this scheme, a committee under the chairmanship of local mla, Mr. Umesh Aggarwal has been constituted. Similarly, in-principal approval was given for the construction of Art and Culture Complex in sector-53 of Gurugram.
  • He said that the petrol pump at IFFCO Chowk which was hurdle in its development, would now be removed, as the stay order for same has been vacated by the Court.
  • In reply to question regarding generation of electricity from waste at Bandhwari, he said that it would be a new technique and the villagers need not to worry about its effect on their life and environment. Moreover, it had been thoroughly examined by the experts.
  • The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Mr V Umashankar said that a Lichen Treatment Plant would be developed for the treatment of residual water from the collected waste so that the underground water would not get contaminated by that.
  • Chandigarh, Apr 12 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has said that Gurugram City has been divided into four zones and focused development is being undertaken in each zone in a phased manner. The zoning system has benefitted the city a lot.
  • He was presiding over a meeting of industrialists and real estate developers in Gurugram today. As many as 61 complaints related to real estate were taken up at the meeting and maximum were resolved on the spot.
  • The Chief Minister said the state government had a different focus on Gurugram. During the tenure of previous government, the system was totally upset in Gurugram but things have been vastly improved with introduction of the zoning system.
  • A number of changes have been made in policies and rules during the last three-and-a-half years. Various projects which had been stalled for a long period of time have since been got cleared by the present government paving the way for their completion.
  • Giving example of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, Mr Manohar Lal said the matter had been lying pending with the Supreme Court. The state government got the matter cleared from the court and construction work resumed. 
  • Resultantly, the KMP would be completed within one-and-a-half month after which the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, would inaugurate the expressway. Similarly, the difficulties faced in the construction of Dwarka Expressway have also been resolved.
  • The Chief Minister said constitution of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority was a big step taken by the present government to ensure all-round development of the city. If residents of Faridabad show interest, such provision could also be made there.
  • A separate authority is being constituted for the KMP Expressway. It has been decided not to undertake further expansion of Gurugram city and instead improve it in its present form. This will help reduce burden on Delhi, he added.
  • Addressing representatives of the real estate industry, the Chief Minister said such meetings would be organised from time to time to redress the grievances of industrialists. The state government expects a large number of industries to come to Gurugram bringing huge investment and creating a large number of jobs. Haryana has become number one state in terms of the Ease of Doing Business and now the the second step would be getting customer feedback.
  • Others present on this occasion included MLAs Mr. Umesh Aggarwal and Mr. Tejpal Tanwar, Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Utilities, Mr. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Mr. Alok Nigam, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, Mr. Arun Gupta, and other senior officers.
  • Chandigarh April 12:  Haryana Government is contemplating to involve the pass-out students of colleges and universities in various government activities according to their stream so as to usefully utilise their capabilities and provide them on the job experience. 
  • This was informed by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal who was speaking at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference on higher education for ethical values and enhanced employability jointly organised by Haryana State Higher Education Council (HSHEC) and Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) here today. Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma was also present on this occasion. About 30 Vice-Chancellors and educationists from 50 Universities participated in the conference. 
  • The Chief Minister said that the present State Government is working towards channelizing the youth energy in right direction and the students after completing their studies would be engaged in various activities like survey, preparation of estimates of various development works and Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the departments according to their stream.
  • Giving example of activities they will be involved into, he said that the State Government has constituted Pond Management Authority for the rejuvenation of all about 14,000 ponds in the State and the massive survey work of these ponds would be entrusted to the Civil and Mechanical Engineers. Under this scheme, excess water flowing in the ponds would be tapped and used for irrigation purposes through solar pump sets whereas water treated by Public Health Engineering Department would be utilized for drinking, he added. 
  • While emphasizing the urgent need of making the students employable after their education, Mr Manohar Lal said that besides education, the final year students should be provided training in skill development. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the State Government and the Universities to ensure that the pass-out students get employment in any field. He directed them to prepare a list of their alumni of last five years and help the unemployed in getting jobs by providing them requisite training.
  • The Chief Minister said that today the government institutes of higher education are more in demand as compared to the private education institutes. The private education institutions should reduce the cost of education if they want to compete with the government institutions; he said adding that the same could be meted out through the corporate social responsibility programme.  He said that there was a time when health and education had zero cost. There should not be any delusion  towards education system and this approach  should be discouraged. An atmosphere of ‘respect to education’ should prevail in the society, he added.
  • He said that the present State Government has also given due honour to the educators. Earlier, there used to be a sense of fear among the teachers about their transfers. But now the Government has implemented  the transparent online teacher’s transfer policy under which 93 per cent teachers got stations  as per their  first, second and third choice.
  • He said that the State Government has also taken various steps for providing employment to the pass-out students. Saksham Yuva Scheme has been implemented under which the educated unemployed youth are provided Rs 9,000 per month, including Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance, in lieu of 100 hours of work done by them. 
  • While emphasizing the need of generating more awareness in the society regarding education, the Chief Minister said that though every educational institute has its own set of agendas yet the ethical values in higher education and enhanced employability should be their ultimate aim.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Mrs Jyoti Arora said that job oriented courses have been made part of curriculum in all colleges of excellence in the State. She said that the same concept would now be implemented for the science students also so that they need not to do these courses separately. She said that as many as 5000 students have been provided placement in different industries with the assistance of Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University. This year, a target has been fixed to provide hundred per cent placement to the students. For this, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with 150 industries, she added.
  • Earlier, speaking on this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Skill Development and Industrial Training and Employment Mr T.C. Gupta said that unprecedented work has been carried out in the field of skill development during the last three years. He said that a separate Saksham Cell has been set up in the Chief Minister office. Apart from this, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University has been set up. The University has made outstanding work in the last one year not only in field skill development but also in the field of research activities.
  • Chairman, Haryana State Higher Education Council Prof. B.K Kuthiala said that the aim should be to make the life of youth meaningful. He said that the education should be based on the moral values which would lead to the development of the country, state and the society.
  • Vice Chancellor of HVSU, Mr Raj Nehru hoped that the conference organized by University under the guidance of HSHEC would help the State and Country in transforming value based education. Expressing concern, he said that though technological advancement has made our physical life more comfortable but it has made our social life disappointing. This is a big threat to entire eco-system, he asserted.
  • Educationist Mr Satish said that there are 30 per cent youth aged between 15 to 29 years which are neither in education nor in training. He said that our sole aim should be to show them the right path and make them self-reliant so as to make Haryana unemployed free.

  • Chandigarh, April 12- The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has congratulated Sushil Kumar, Babita Kumari and Kiran for winning gold, silver and bronze respectively, in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games, today.
  • While Sushil Kumar won gold—his third consecutive in CWG--in 74kg men’s freestyle wrestling, Babita Kumari won silver in 53-kg women’s category and Kiran won bronze in women’s 76-kg category.
  •  In a message today, the Chief Minister said, “The three wrestlers from Haryana have done the state and the country proud. That Sushil took a little more than a minute to clinch gold speaks for his prowess on the mat. Both Babita Kumari and Kiran too did well to beat their opponents to clinch silver and bronze, respectively. I congratulate them and wish other wrestlers best of the mat and best of luck”, he added.
