Chandigarh, June 1 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, State Government is running ‘Special ‘Shramik trains’ on a daily basis from various railway stations of the state to send workers willing to return to their home states. In this series, today one ‘Special Shramik train’ was sent from Haryana. Similarly, workers of the neighbouring states of Haryana are also being sent to their home states through buses. He said that workers have made a significant contribution to the progress and development of Haryana.

He said that realizing the difficulties of these workers, the Haryana Government has made arrangements to send them free of cost to their home states. Today, more than 1600 workers left from Gurugram for their home state in Odisha by a ‘Special ‘Shramik Train’.

Train from Gurugram to Balasore (Odisha)

Today, 1600 workers were sent to Balasore (Odisha) through Special ‘Shramik Train’ from Gurugram railway station. In this train, workers from four states namely Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa were sent on their way home. Water bottles, food packets, face masks, and sanitizers were also made available to the workers by the State Government. While on their way home on the train, happiness was seen on the workers' faces. Toys were also given to small children on the train.

Along with free of cost train tickets workers were provided other facilities, so that they did not face any difficulty on the way. All workers returning to their home states were brought to Gurugram railway station via Haryana Roadways buses after which health checkups were conducted and other social distancing norms were followed.

Toys, biscuits, packets of chips and chocolates etc. were also provided to the children traveling with the workers. Police and railway employees helped the workers find their seats in the coaches. Along with necessary items, the passengers were also given important information related to maintaining social distancing. Soaps and sanitizers were placed in all coaches of the train.

On behalf of Haryana Government, Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has given everyone the opportunity to meet their family members keeping humanity in mind. It was his wish that these workers reach their homes safe and sound. Haryana is a development-oriented state which is a preferred destination for investors, therefore, employment avenues are galore here and workers are welcome to the state for seeking employment again.
