Chandigarh, September 1- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that an effective scheme is being formulated to develop and provide financial assistance to sports academies, according to requirement. The academies are being developed to encourage sportspersons so that any needy sportsperson could do his or her practice in these academies and bring laurels to the country or state.
The Chief Minister was speaking in a programme organised during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Badhra assembly constituency in Charkhi Ddari today. Earlier, the Chief Minister announced development works to the tune of Rs 53 crore in the district and also laid the foundation stone of Bus Stand to be constructed at Jhojhu Kalan at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
He said that this region is known for its sportspersons like Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat and Vinesh Phogat who have brought laurels to the name of this region in the world. The younger generation should take inspiration from such players especially girls. He said that recently, Haryana Cabinet has also approved to given approval to provide various benefits to sportspersons. Now, the sportspersons of Junior and sub-junior level would also be given 75 per cent and 50 per cent of the prize money. He said that the prize money being given to the players of the individual sports event would now be given equally to the players of the team. The state government has decided to give cash prize to the players for every medal they would win. Apart from this, other discrepancies have also been removed.
It is noteworthy that Jhojhu has been made a block, due to the efforts of the Chief Minister now the process of giving it the status of Tehsil is also underway.
The Chief Minister said that if the villagers install their old electricity meters outside and pays the electricity bills on time and assured to pay for the last year from the outstanding bills, then they would surely get 24 hours of electricity supply. He said that Charkhi Dadri, Loharu and Bhiwani is also known for cows. Gau Samvardhan, Gau Sanrakshan Bill has been passed in the state and the budget of Gau Seva Ayog has been increased to Rs 46 crore from Rs. 50 lakhs.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also flagged off battery operated 38 vehicles under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Dadri. He also presented a road sweep machine to Municipal Council Dadri. Apart from this, he also laid the foundation stone of two VRB bridges on Loharu Canal.
MP, Mr Dharambir Singh, Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Agriculture Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankhar and MLA, Mr Sukhwinder Singh also addressed the people on the occasion.
