Chandigarh, March 1: Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that the holy city of Dharamshetra Kurukshetra will now have another distinct identity and will also be known as a hub of art and culture after the inauguration of Kalakriti Bhawan, the new building of Haryana Kala Parishad today. From this cultural centre, the entire world will also be familiarised with the culture of Haryana and the Haryana Kala Parishad will play an important role in popularising Haryanvi culture across the world.

Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal was speaking after inaugurating the headquarters of Haryana Kala Parishad, which was shifted from Chandigarh to Kurukshetra at Kalakrit Bhawan at Kurukshetra today.

Folk dance artists of Punjab and Haryana performed at the inauguration function and made the event memorable. The Chief Minister visited all rooms of Kalakriti Bhawan and said that Kala Parishad has continuously been providing a platform to the artists to exhibit their talent and popularise the culture of the state. All four zonal level centers under Haryana Kala Parishad will also extend full support to promote art in their respective areas.

Vice President, Haryana Kala Parishad Mr. Sanjay Bhasin, requested the Chief Minister for opening the Sangeet Natak Akademi branch at Kalakrit Bhawan so that the theatre artists of Haryana will also get an opportunity to showcase their talent. He also requested for its own theatre on the lines of National School of Drama.

The Vice-Chairman of Haryana Kala Parishad Mr. Sanjay Bhasin presented a memento to Chief Minister Manohar Lal on this occasion.
