Chandigarh, November 5 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the main objective of passing the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Bill, 2020 in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today is to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state.
The Chief Minister said this during the discussion on the Bill in the House on the first day of the ongoing session in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today.
He also apprised the House that states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh have already passed similar laws.
The Chief Minister said that after the passing of this bill, industries will have to give minimum 10 percent quota to the youth of the district concerned in jobs of up to Rs 50,000. In this manner, Haryana has 22 districts and if any industry wishes, they can give more than 10 percent quota to the youth of any district, but must provide 75 percent of the total quota to the youth of the State.
The Chief Minister clarified that even before 2014, previous governments had made a provision to give 75 per cent jobs to the local youth in the industrial units set up in HSIIDC plots, but no government had properly monitoring it. There was a strike in the Honda company in the last term as well, but discussions with the industries it has been agreed upon after which it has been presented in the House today in the form of a bill, he added. He said that this will not only benefit the districts where the industry will be set up, but other districts will also benefit from it.
